King is homophobic. She denies that there is evidence of homosexuality, but there is a test for it. It has been demonstrated. There is no test whatsoever to prove that someone has magic feelings of the opposite sex. To the contrary, denying your sex is often a symptom of trauma from things like sexual abuse or autism. People feeling dysphoric need proper psychotherapy and counselling to find the root cause of their distress. As you say, we can't just assume it is genuine dysphoria as people cannot self diagnose their trauma.

Perhaps with trans since the phenomena is distress at one's sexed body, there could be good reasons to investigate a cause or causes

Thomas went from 65th to 1st ranked nationally in the 500-free after transitioning against top tier swimmers.
