He thinks that if he lays ground rules and bares the weirdness then it'll go back to normal, because he's to insecure to make tuff decisions. There’s a point where he calls the number on the one wish willow for help, NOT to reverse the wish, but to TWEAK IT bc he still likes how Nikki is in love with him — he just doesn’t like how weird she is about it. Bear is defo the villain from the start😭

Bear is not immediately the villain of Obsession, as he simply couldn’t overcome his overwhelming insecurities for female affection. However, there is a certain point (or two) where it’s made abundantly clear to him that this isn’t a game and something is extremely wrong. Yet he does nothing about it and continues to believe that he can make this situation work. That’s when he officially becomes the villain because the situation completely spirals out of control.

yall… this lady came in with her 7-8 year old son and sat next to me, both sharing the same seat and even when i offered to move over she said it was fine and proceeded to fit them both into the seat then right as trailers start and the lights go down she pulled out a lighter and a candle, lit the candle and put it in the cup holder next to me… WHAT THE FUCK.

Aside from Inde’s performance and the insanely creepy cinematography/lighting, one of my favorite moments in Obsession is when Bear is reading a Reddit thread about One Wish Willows and someone wrote “my mom has been ugly all her life and now she’s gorgeous!”

@BewareMoon @DarkOfTheMovie Sure, he never decides to kill her which is commendable, but he is allowing the shit to go longer than needed. He only stops the fantasy once the consequences became permanent. He was fine cleaning piss and vomit if it ment he can live with his dream girl.

@UtterlyVapid I felt like they sidestepped it being a "men are bad" issue so they could explicitly put 100% of the accountability on Bear consistently making self serving choices. The party scene was like "the other men also think something is wrong here" and i love the movie for that

I appreciate that OBSESSION (2026) never gives the audience an out for Bear's selfishness. There's a version of the film that would make him entirely a victim in the scenario and it not happening makes everything that much more horrific. A nicer Bear would kneecap the film.

That’s intentional and works when Rey becomes exhausted tho

@CoolBeanz2984 @VeryCansado The good story stopped after S2, with the last 2 season's only good story being Issac's plot. Alucard got a rushed corruption arc, Carmilla is bland out of Issac's plot, Hector is dogshit and so is his plotline, and Trevor and Sypha get a rushed tragic romance.
