Hey @GaurieD, I don’t know how long you have been working as a journalist, but one thing was evident from that exchange: @HelleLyngSvends handled your illogical questions with far more grace and professionalism than you did. She clearly said that the newspaper must evaluate its actions and that using a racist image was hurtful. But you wanted a full-fledged condemnation from her, as if she were a spokesperson for one political party and you for another. I wish you showed the same enthusiasm in questioning leaders of the ruling party who are often accused of spewing venom against minorities. Also, by your own logic, many news channels in this country, including the one you work for, routinely spread communal narratives and target particular communities. Have you ever publicly condemned that? No. You continue to work there without objection. So where exactly does this moral outrage come from? What I see is not journalism but selective indignation. You seem less upset about the issue itself and more offended that a foreign journalist dared to ask our Prime Minister a tough question. Before lecturing others on journalistic ethics, perhaps spend some time reflecting on your own profession’s standards. Journalism requires humility, self-awareness, and consistency. Until then, please stop embarrassing yourself and, by extension, the country on a global platform.

MOTHER AND PARTNER ABANDON TODDLERS AGE 5 AND 3 IN WOODS AFTER BLINDFOLDING THEM AFTER TAKING THEM TO PORTUGAL Heartless parents allegedly blindfolded their terrified 5-year-old and 3-year-old sons, told them it was a twisted “game to drive away the devil”, buried a knife in the woods and then abandoned the boys deep in remote Portuguese forest. The French brothers Barthélémy (5) and Zacharie (3) were instructed they could only remove their blindfolds once they found the buried knife and used it to cut them off. Mother Marine, 41, from Colmar in eastern France, and her partner Marc had driven more than 1,000 miles from France to Portugal specifically to carry out the alleged abandonment near Alcácer do Sal. The toddlers dug desperately in the dirt for several minutes before Barthélémy finally took their blindfolds off only to realise their parents had completely vanished. They wandered alone for hours, ending up crying and screaming on the side of the quiet N235 rural road between Alcácer do Sal and Comporta around 7pm Tuesday. A local couple who found them said the boys were “terrified”, covered in dirt and bruises with one nursing a grazed knee, desperately calling out for their father. Each boy had only a small backpack containing spare clothes, pieces of fruit and water bottles, nothing else, no ID. Both children have since been given a clean bill of health in hospital (toxicology confirmed they were not drugged) and placed into foster care. Portuguese police have opened an urgent child abandonment case while French authorities are investigating neglect, with the boys’ grandmother and separated biological father having already reported them missing. Marine's mother, the boys' maternal grandmother, reported the children's disappearance to police, telling them they had been abducted by their mother. The boys' father, who is separated from Marine, also filed a child abduction report to police. Colmar prosecutor Jean Richert told Le Parisien: 'He's like everyone else, he doesn't understand. The mother and Marc are now at the centre of the international probe.

THIS IS CLASSIC PLAYBOOK 🔥 ANCHOR: How many books have you read on Indian democracy? Have you even been to India? HELLE LYNG: India is not my field. I have a lot to learn. But my job is to ask critical questions. ANCHOR: Enjoying Indian curries and doing yoga doesn’t qualify as knowing India. HELLE LYNG: I read reports. I question press freedom. What does basic journalism have to do with knowing a country? Anchor tried pure deflection by making the journalist’s credentials the issue.

An anonymous developer built a library so big it made Elsevier's legal team cry. It's called Anna's Archive. This got 99 million books and papers. Every shadow library on earth mirrored and searchable in one place. Domain takedowns bounce off it. It just moves to a new URL and keeps going. Here's the story behind it. In November 2022, US law enforcement seized Z-Library's domains and arrested its operators. The largest ebook library on the internet was gone overnight. A pseudonymous developer going only by "Anna" had already seen it coming. She had spent months as part of an anonymous group called the Pirate Library Mirror, quietly making full copies of every major shadow library before they disappeared. When Z-Library fell, she had the entire thing backed up. Days later, Anna's Archive went live. Here's what makes it unkillable. It does not host a single file. It indexes metadata and links to third-party mirrors. Legally, there is nothing to seize. Technically, there is no central server to shut down. The entire codebase is open source. The entire dataset is distributed via torrents and IPFS, a decentralized file system where data lives across thousands of nodes simultaneously. If every domain gets blocked tomorrow, anyone can spin up a new mirror in minutes from the same data. Italy blocked it. Germany blocked it. Publishers sued it. The US Trade Representative put it on their notorious markets list. It added new domains and kept going. What you get for free: → 99M+ books and academic papers → Sci-Hub, Library Genesis, Z-Library, Internet Archive all mirrored in one search → No account required → No subscription → Download via IPFS, torrent, or direct link → Works across multiple mirror domains when one goes down Elsevier charges universities $2 billion a year for journal access. A single anonymous developer with a pseudonym and a backup drive just made that business model look embarrassing. 100% Opensource. annas-archive.gl

While OpenAI models are obliterating math questions, I am meeting regularly with colleagues from chemistry, mathematics, physics, the social sciences, biology, geography, and more to teach them how to use Codex in their scientific research. We had a first round of 300 researchers who went through basic ChatGPT training, 5 hours in total, and now we have 60 researchers who want to learn how to use Codex and we teach them in 25 hours how to do it. After just 12 hours, they have already built amazing apps covering topological insulators, gene expression, and hidden symmetries. I run sessions twice a week, and we sit together in a typical jam session. The exchange of ideas is enormous. I mostly set the pace and give them highlights, for example, how to set up a knowledge base, preview it with Obsidian, and build documentation with Jupyter Book while developing a professional dashboard. People who barely had any contact with the console can now make full-fledged, data-driven research apps. I am so excited to be their guide into this crazy new agentic world.

fun fact: i haven't updated my resume even once in the past year partially because i haven't been applying for jobs and everything has been inbound (alhamdulillah) but also partially because i don't think i'd want to work at a place that still hires engineers based off of their resumes i'd rather someone find me / i find them here on X, or they look at my GitHub, or they come across one my projects coincidentally in the interwebs resumes + cover letters + job applications are archaic now

Modi asked you to eat less oil, skip gold, work from home. Sitharaman told you to eat out less and watch your expenses. BJP IT Cell told you “India is the fastest growing economy.” Meanwhile, Indian Express’s Udit Misra just filed the autopsy report: 🔴 Rupee: ₹86 → ₹96 in ONE year. Quietly. 🔴 Net FDI gone NEGATIVE; Indians building factories abroad because they don’t trust this government’s economy 🔴 BOTH current account AND capital account in deficit; simultaneously. First time. Ever. 🔴 Per capita income = ₹20,000/month. MOST Indians earn below even that. 🔴 Exports? Almost stagnant and flat; after 12 years of “make in India”, And Misra confirmed, the government KNEW this for 2 years. They hid it during elections. The call only came once votes were counted. This isn’t bad luck. This isn’t Iran. This isn’t Trump. This is what 12 years of suit-boot economics, crony capitalism, and GDP optics actually looks like underneath. Rahul Gandhi called it in July 2025: “Indian economy is DEAD.” The Indian Express just put the post-mortem report on the table. They didn’t mismanage the economy. They HID the mismanagement from you; until after you voted. That’s not incompetence. That’s a betrayal. 🇮🇳 💔

Yann LeCun says LLMs are strongest in domains where language itself is the substrate of reasoning, like math and code They can solve problems, prove theorems, and write programs — but they are not creative mathematicians, software architects, or computer scientists "their role is to help humans build"
