@LeeFoo9 @cjohnsonn0311 No way. This is what happens when the Bible is just a series of proof texts. Ecclesiastes was written during the OT when everyone went to Hades when they died and Ancient Jews didn't believe in a resurrection of the dead.
English

@HermanFlaaten @EasternMilk @needGod_net All translation is a form of interpretation. A word in one language typically has a range of words it can be translated to in another. The word the translator uses is going to be influenced by his interpretation of the Scriptures
English

@StateOfXep @EasternMilk @needGod_net Completely false. Do you think 99% of Bible translators have no idea what they're doing? But you do? Look up any dictionary, and the way "faith" is used in the Bible (good example: Romans 4), and you'll see that it's correctly translated as "faith".
English

@HermanFlaaten @EasternMilk @needGod_net He's referring to the Greek word pistis being more accurately translated as faithfulness than simply faith
English

@EasternMilk @needGod_net Completely false. I suppose you're referring to John 6 -- Jesus is using the word "work" ironically there.
English

@HoaryHead1611 No seriously, who are ylu referring to? Where are your Protestants in the first millenia?
English

The old classic of pretending there weren’t any faith-alone Christians before the reformation (hasn’t read Acts)

@TejasRanger1836 Damn, guess everyone prior to Luther was an unsaved cultist
English

@TexasRose1836 @Cernovich Its because many Protestants are functionally gnostic
English

Protestants actually venerate really hard… they just refuse to call it that.
They carry pocket Bibles like talismans, kiss their family heirloom copies, stand in reverence when the Word is read aloud, and will fight you over a “disrespected” translation.
They name their kids after apostles and reformers, hang giant crosses and Christian flags, blast worship music in their trucks like it’s a battle hymn, and treat certain pastors like rock stars.
But mention bowing your head toward an icon of Christ or asking a saint in heaven to pray for you? “That’s idolatry! We only worship God!”
Exactly. We all get the distinction between veneration (honor, love, respect) and worship (latria — the adoration due to God alone).
Protestants venerate the Bible, the preaching of the Word, the Lord’s Day, the American flag in church, their denomination’s confessions, and even “the principles of the Reformation” with a passion that would make a medieval monk blush.
They just drew the line at physical images and the communion of saints while pouring their veneration into other things instead.
It’s not that Protestants don’t venerate. It’s that they’re selective about what they venerate and pretend only their version is “biblical.”
Meanwhile the historic Church said: honor the saints, because in honoring them we honor Christ who lives in them. Venerate the Cross, because it’s His. Love the icons, because they lift the heart to the Prototype.
Veneration isn’t the problem.
Inconsistent veneration is.
English

@5Solas2 The depicted pastor literally believes the KJV is eternal and identical with Christ...
English

@C2Antiquity @buttonslives The church is NOT a building. Especially like this. The church is the body of believers who are called out of the darkness and into the light!
English

@StateOfXep @TejasRanger1836 These guys are ahistorical new revelation cultists.
English

If they’re not faith-alone Christians, they’re also unsaved cultists.
Hope this helps.

I’m confused, if Catholicism is a cult, what does that make Protestants who came out of Catholicism?
English

@MementoFortis @TejasRanger1836 The eternal KJV Quran is the fourth person of the quaternity
English

@desertcynic Literally all I see from you is counter-signaling the Orthodox
English

@KevinCl59528387 @LowStudies @___mithrandir_ The true theology of what exactly? The platonic form of Jesus?
English

@LowStudies @___mithrandir_ Cliffe still affirms to the true theology when it comes to the nature of the Holy Trinity and salvation of mankind. What the ortho-bro did is sabotaging the attempt of a genuine believer in spreading the good news that is the gospel.
English

Remember this? Inside baseball questions to humiliate them when they're trying to evangelize unbelievers. Absolutely ridiculous behavior. Debate is good but there is a time and place for it.
THE ORTHOCHAT@THEORTHOCHAT
AMERICAN PROTESTANTISM CRUMBLES IN THE FACE OF BASIC BIBLICAL ORTHODOXY @askcliffe is, once again, silencing Orthodox Christians tearing down the veil of his astroturfed and ignorant theology… Could this be why Orthodoxy is taking over the United States?
English

@TejasRanger1836 Yoooo the eternal KJV Quran 🤣
You rely on a Jewish manuscript tradition
English

Correct. And yet the Bible is Jesus.
clutchjohnson🥋@clutchjohnson56
@TejasRanger1836 Jesus isn’t a book
English

@TejasRanger1836 Non-sequitur. How does this prove sola sacriptura
English

@sanderson1611 That's rich coming from you. Its a shame your god hasn't defeated death, our God has slain it with the sword of the cross.

Orthodox kiss dead skulls

@HoaryHead1611 Were Elijah's bones not the means by which God's miracle was experience? Were the bones of Joseph not venerated as they were carried through the desert?
English

First appearance of this idiotic question begging, this go around. Surprised this didn't pop up sooner. Maybe the Gay Liar bros don't know it.
Elijah's corpse was buried. The miracle wasn't his dead body, but God's. No one venerated his bones.

@HoaryHead1611 Elisha's bones are an idol?
