Seniors should not be priced out of a house they already paid for because the area around them got more expensive. They didn’t suddenly get richer because Zillow says the house is worth more. Most of them are living on fixed income, paying higher insurance, higher utilities, higher groceries, and then the tax bill shows up like they somehow got a raise. People can argue all day about how to fund schools and services, and that part does matter. But making older homeowners keep rebuying the same house every year through property taxes is exactly why so many people feel like ownership is never really ownership.

@pawluk_michael Yes, the Met Mile was a great Memorial Datly feature. No, it was not historically a great card. I randomly chose 2005, the year of Ghostzapper's jaw-dropping win. There was not another stakes race on the card.

I sure miss the good old days when the Met Mile was run on Memorial Day and the card was one of the best cards of the year. It should never have been made a part of Belmont Day. It’s a race that should always be a stand alone FEATURE race of the day. Now it’s just a BC “prep”

@raypaulick The entire WPS pool had $118k So, what was total in win pool? $75k spread across eight horses? A single person could have banged those odds, it wouldn't have taken much money. The place and show payouts are not disproportionate to the win odds.
