The only request I have for these people is to stand by their decision and don’t switch sides again as soon as *Jolani-Syria* no longer is something that the west particularly cares about or rather when it inadvertently turns sour.

If you are not in the loop. No *Journalist/Activist* is living off a 800 words opinion article that gets published every 3 months in some dying legacy media outlet. Especially not when the majority of such articles are just buzzwords with no new/valuable information. They live off NGOs - the majority of these NGOs are state funded. You get invited to an event for 120 minutes, present a simple PowerPoint and then you do a Q&A and you go home with a check that’s at least 1000€ This is not a big conspiracy thing - it’s something that anyone in this sphere can tell you about. Syria is a major cash cow and continues to be it - for many of these people, as soon as it was clear that Jolani has been publicly accepted by the west - they knew that it was no longer a majority opinion to side with the Kurds/SDF and instead they moved to embrace the *Pragmatic Jolani* They made a strategic decision; not out of personal beliefs but monetary gains.

@KellieMeyerNews @ODNIgov @CENTCOM And what about the tens of thousands of ISIS prisoners who have ALREADY been freed by the al Qaeda "government" since 18 January? Not worth mentioning? Do all American journalists love al Qaeda in Syria as much as Donnie Trump does?

NEWS: @ODNIgov @CENTCOM successfully move 6,000 ISIS detainees from Syria to Iraq. This as clashes in Syria continue and threated the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces who were keeping the ISIS detainees behind bars. There was fear the prison could collapse and those detainees would return to the battlefield. @NCTCKent @StateDept @DeptofWar Insanity. How many tens of thousands of ISIS prisoners have been freed by al Qaeda in Syria since 18 January?Al Aqtan?Al Hol? No comment? This is what passes as a "major accomplishment" for the Trump administration: 'we only helped al Qaeda free 90% of ISIS prisoners, not 100%!'

Our successful transfer of nearly 6,000 ISIS detainees from Syria to Iraq represents a major accomplishment in America's fight against ISIS — one that was achieved through tireless coordination between the Iraqi and Syrian governments, NCTC, @StateDept and @DeptofWar. We never lost sight of the threat of ISIS, worked endless hours to support our warfighters and partners on the ground, and executed on President Trump's vision that was two administrations in the making. My sincerest gratitude is with every NCTC officer who supported the around-the-clock intelligence analysis needed for this mission. Constant vigilance is a must, which is why we remain focused on protecting the safety and security of the American people.
Office of the DNI@ODNIgov

🚨NEW from @DNIGabbard: “Nearly 6,000 of the most dangerous ISIS detainees have been transferred out of Syria and secured in Iraq. @ODNIgov’s National Counterterrorism Center worked around the clock with the @DeptofWar and @StateDept to ensure the progress made by @POTUS to dismantle ISIS persists, removing thousands of ISIS prisoners from Syria, with the ultimate goal of preventing the rapid reconstruction of ISIS. Under President Trump's direction, NCTC will remain vigilant to protect the American people at home and abroad.”   Read more here: dni.gov/index.php/news…

Congress would be wise to be asking a lot of specific questions about where these ISIS detainees are detained in Iraq, how secure are the facilities, who is guarding them, and how much sustained visibility does the United States have on these questions going forward. This is especially true given the U.S. military withdrawals in Iraq that have been happening. It is also worth asking why it was so urgent to move them out of Syria. That question might be illuminating for folks who want to suggest all is going great in Syria.

I recently spoke with @POTUS and @SecRubio, and I very much appreciate their efforts to bring stability to Syria. It looks like President Trump’s efforts have paid off, at least in the near term. The Trump Administration is engaged, ensuring stability replaces the chaos that they inherited. I would encourage regional partners to reinforce President Trump’s message that we need stability not fighting. Secretary Rubio is very much hands-on in that effort. Neither the region nor the world needs another bloodbath in northeast Syria. To President Trump and Secretary Rubio: well done. Congress stands ready to help maintain stability and to push back against regional players who harm America’s interests by moving against reliable allies like the Kurds. Saudi Arabia is uniquely positioned to have influence on the Syrian government, and I hope they will exercise it for the benefit of the region and all concerned. Thank you President Trump for your leadership.

This is an important rebuttal by Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter to Reuters’ reporting and to a narrative some think tankers here in DC and journalists close to the Turkish government have been trying to advance in recent days.

Let me be very clear: Having been present for the entirety of the trilateral meeting in Paris myself, Israel never condoned an attack by the Syrian army on the Syrian Kurds. Any claim that we did so is false.

There are now credible reports that Syrian forces, alongside Turkey, may be advancing against our Kurdish allies in Northern Syria. I'm deeply concerned by this news.   Any further attacks on these forces, who were central to defeating ISIS and remain key allies of the United States, are unacceptable. There must be immediate de-escalation.
House Foreign Affairs Committee Dems@HouseForeign

RM @RepGregoryMeeks: I continue to monitor the situation in Aleppo with great concern and call for urgent de-escalation. All displaced civilians must be permitted to return to their homes, while food and basic supplies must reach Syrian Kurdish areas in need. It is vital for all Syrian communities to be protected and fully represented in the new Syria.

I fully trust the integrity and expertise of @yanisvaroufakis . This is a very serious warning about why 2026 may be the pivot year for non-linear changes, triggered by a more rapid de-dollarization that most of us are expecting; and they are certainly not further away than 2030, according to the clio-dynamical calculations of Harry Seldon (I mean @Peter_Turchin ), including the authors of the Fourth Turning.
