Yuri is so absurdly impressive that it’s hard to convey to other staffers. Let me put it this way: Yuri donates newly constructed buildings in his spare time. He isn’t a podcaster or bragging about being in politics since the Y2K era. He’s a businessman.

Everyone realizes Iain Black is just working as Caroline Elliott’s attack dog in the BC Conservative leadership race? He cannot win so he is attacking other candidates for Caroline. He just attacked KLF for going after Peter when Iain went after Peter for the same exact thing . Iain has even attended Caroline Elliott events with her, like the Without Diminishment party which is literally a blog she founded and all the writers are either promoters for her or directly work for her campaign.

@StephenLShapiro Naa, not really. Conservatives have been tearing ourselves apart for decades. Splits on the right have cost us election after election. Getting a deal so that we can focus our attention on the NDP? That’s a damn good deal.

@StephenLShapiro I appreciate the concern but honestly, I really respect his ability to sit down and hammer out a deal. Taking 10% out of a bunch of critical ridings & being at each other's throats during a general is a massive distraction and horrible strategy. The only winner there is the NDP.

@GurvSC Totally agree and well said. They have lost their way. Carney is strong with what would have been a Progressive Conservative agenda pre-CPC.

When you’re down 2-3 points you can blame Trump, but when you’re down 10+ points that’s not a Trump issue anymore. That’s incompetence at the CPC. I don’t even understand what the plan is anymore, they need to stop being so soft and start differentiating themselves from Carney to regular Canadians so that people actually care what they have to say. We should be running on massive economic reform. Why are we obsessed with dumb stuff like Pierre not smiling enough and the tone he speaks in, genuinely baffling. We were doing better before he changed his personality because at least we weren’t irrelevant. The CPC needs to understand that Stephen Harper would lose an election right now probably by a lot to Carney. That means the CPC needs to be different from how they won previously. Running on soft reform won’t work.
