Your mother is problematic. Your father is problematic. Your son is problematic. Your aunt is problematic. The cashier at the local Tesco is problematic. You've probably bought a cookie from a bakery made by hands that have done unspeakable things. Every chocolate bar you've ever eaten has probably killed a 7 year old child slave in Cameroon. The gas that drives your car is fueled by engines of death. Every person who has ever smiled at you in the streets has committed some act that if you knew about it, would make you profoundly dislike them. We have all been bad, small, petty, unlikeable, cruel, downright mean. Authors are not special "problematic" beings, they're just more public. Part of being an adult is recognizing that without mercy for our fellow human beings, and ourselves, we'd all be condemned to death. Reading fiction should help us understand that we're all irreparably tainted with evil, every system is corrupted, every line is broken. And like, that's okay. That's what it means to be alive.

honestly i'm this close to quitting reading for good. every single author i actually love turns out to be problematic or worse. i'm so tired of finding out after i already got attached. feels like i can't enjoy anything anymore without a background check first

duolingo is fascinating it's fun, gamified, addictive, and very engaging and active online but it's absolutely useless and you'll never learn a new language by just using it

He is fucken activist. I enjoyed his performance in BG3, some scenes were hilarious. But for fuck sake, shut the fuck up. You got paid for promoting game and promoting D&D, not promoting Agenda. People like this, heck, actors from Hollywood like this, Music Stars - all those people are Risk for Brand right now, employing them and their "preaching" is bad for business, D&D will never heal with people like this being its forefront.

New D&D Dungeon Masters and Baldur's Gate 3 actor Neil Newborn on normalizing LGBTQ in gaming: “We entertain people and educate people about acting. We spread inclusivity and try to be allies to the trans community, the LGBTQIA community, and people from different ethnic backgrounds.” “[Games like Baldur's Gate 3] normalize sexuality and gender in a way that we maybe haven’t seen quite so openly,” adding it is “important to keep pushing the message forward.” Asked about critics, he said: “If you think I’m woke, it doesn’t make a difference to me.” Is this what D&D should be promoting?

I'd actually like to see a stylish beat 'em up involving a girl using a nigh-indestructible cello as an instrument of murder.

Fun Fact: Angela Lansbury gets in more combat in the very first episode of Murder, She Wrote than Peter Falk gets in for all 70+ episodes of Columbo.

@A_DungeonDelver I once had a guy flake on going with me to North Texas Con because he didn't want to go with the people he *thought* were coming (They were not coming). Of course, he didn't tell me this until months after the event.

What's the weirdest no-show to hang out and game you ever had? Guy I used to know, hung out with for years. We had our ups and downs as friends but so it went. We made plans for an off day I had coming up to hang out, play Battletech, get a bite to eat. I called, left him a message on his machine to remind him per his request. He was a no-show. Didn't call, didn't email. Called him that day, said sorry we missed, I'd see him next time, give me a call. Emailed him a couple more times. Never heard from him again, ever. That was 30, 31 years ago. Now before you say, well maybe he passed away, or something like that...he follows me on LinkedIn to this day. Same guy, or someone putting in a hell of a lot of work to pretend to be him. Pic related.

@DrunkRepub Incentives. Someone is paying them not to solve these problems. I'll also add - Homeless problems? Why don't you give them a home (Institutionalize them until they get on their feet)?

The crazy thing about the left is they just outright reject the most common sense solutions. - Budget problems? Why don’t you root out fraud? - Crime problems? Why don’t you just keep the criminals in jail? - Environmental problems? Why don’t you harness nuclear power? There are very clear answers to our most pressing problems, and the fact they are rejected by half the electorate demonstrates that they’re more interested in destroying America than fixing her. And that should be sufficient to get any half-patriotic, well-meaning voter to the polls this November. Or forever for that matter.
