The Media Interview of Gwede Mantashe, and Press Briefing of President Cyril Ramaphosa, has rendered the ANC NEC Meeting of today futile and useless. If not from the leadership collective, where does Cyril and Gwede take mandate from? What will the NEC discuss because the decisions have already been taken by the faction? I won’t be surprised if they post videos singing, because that is the only thing they are meeting to do! The once powerful ANC NEC has been reduced to a choir to rubber stamp decisions already taken by a faction.

Whether President Ramaphosa resigns depends on 1. His perception and preparedness for potential embarrassment & explosive information 2. Push factors from the ANC and GNU partners, of which the probability is low at the moment; strength of opponents and their bargaining with others.

#sapsHQ The #SAPS confirms the arrest of two senior officers and a civilian allegedly linked to the illegal dealing and unlawful possession of precious metals following an intensive investigation by the Gauteng Counter Intelligence Operations (GCI-OPS). The suspects, were arrested following investigations into allegations of illicit precious metals transactions, corruption and related offences. The arrests were effected over the weekend by the team who executed a J50 warrant of arrest. These arrests form part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to dismantle criminal networks involved in the illicit trade of precious minerals and corruption. The suspects are expected to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Monday, 11/05, facing charges that may include the unlawful dealing in precious metals, defeating the ends of justice, corruption and contravention of applicable legislation regulating precious metals in South Africa. @MzwaneleManyi The key word is “remove from office.” Section 89 specifically states that two thirds of the National Assembly must adopt a resolution to remove the President from office. If the President has already resigned, there is no office to remove them from.

A successful Motion of No Confidence does not make impeachment moot. It strengthens its integrity. Once the President is removed, witnesses and heads of institutions can testify freely, without fear of reprisals or executive intimidation. The two processes are complementary.

@Enghumbhini The DM finance is deployed in the Joburg region. These are part avenues of communication between the party and its national deployees. The PFA matter requires direct political engagement ~ as the regional ANC has a labor constituency it must satisfy before the November elections.
