A carpenter is working at my house today with two young trainees. Listening to their conversations and observing their work is teaching me a lot about mentoring, teaching skills to trainees, choosing what work to delegate versus what work to do together or do on one's own.

You will find an outsizingly larger number of women in jobs related to science communication in India. These roles are also most often temporary and contractual with no clear career path or promotion. A young science communicator once asked me: What if these were made permanent jobs? I would have to say, then the gender demographic would be very different. 🙏
