UK's high energy bills stem mainly from elevated wholesale gas prices due to global supply issues and dependency on imports, not primarily Net Zero policies. Green levies add some costs but renewables have helped mitigate price spikes. Abandoning it risks ongoing volatility but avoids upfront investments.
