@Matt_VickersMP Mr Vickers, I voted remain and I'll never forgive or forget what your party have done, the lies, the fraud, the accepting of dodgy foreign cash. The people were conned by the xenophobic messages produced by your party and their alter egos UKIP. The only winners are tax evaders!

I am devastated to share the news that one of my heroes — and a woman who has had an enormous impact on wildlife conservation — Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas has died. She was 79. I feel so grateful that I had the honor of spending time with her. Over the years, I have connected with so many of you over my love of orangutans (and elephants and mountain gorillas, of course); Dr. Biruté gets all the credit. Orangutans would likely be extinct were it not for Dr. Biruté’s pioneering and exhaustive work over the last six decades. Dr. Biruté was one of three women handpicked and mentored by legendary paleoanthropologist Louis Leakey to transform our understanding of the great apes. Jane Goodall studied chimpanzees, Dian Fossey studied gorillas, and Dr. Biruté dedicated her life to orangutans, and together they revolutionized primatology and the case for great ape intelligence, emotional depth, and conservation. While Jane Goodall proved that chimpanzees use tools, form complex social bonds, and possess a capacity for empathy once thought uniquely human, Dr. Biruté proved that orangutans are slow-breeding, highly intelligent, and extremely vulnerable. Dr. Biruté built the conservation model to try to save orangutans and dedicated her life to protecting them. Dr. Biruté is credited with conducting the longest-running longitudinal study by one principal investigator of any wild mammal in the world. She was the first to document the long orangutan birth interval, which averaged 7.7 years, and recorded over 400 types of food consumed by orangutans. Dr. Biruté’s research that fundamentally reshaped how scientists understood orangutans. Before her field studies, the orangutan was the least understood of the great apes. The orangutan population as it exists today, as fragile as it is, would not exist without her. Many conservationists go as far as saying the orangutan, our cousin, would likely be extinct or close to extinct were it not for Dr. Biruté’s discoveries and her sacrifice. Dr. Biruté took on palm oil conglomerates, illegal loggers, poachers, and gold miners. She did so often at great personal risk, including death threats and kidnapping, She remained in Borneo for over 40 years as an outspoken advocate for orangutans and the preservation of their rainforest habitat. In 1986, she founded Orangutan Foundation International, with sister organizations established in Australia, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom. We owe so much to Dr. Biruté and her incredible legacy.

I don’t need to watch #PMQs to know how it will go today: Kemi: Does the PM expect the British public to believe that McSweeney's phone had gone missing? Starmer: Is this the same public who had to pay higher mortgages due to Liz Truss’ budget which SHE supported!?

The official definition of “anti-Muslim hostility” is a government-sponsored blasphemy law via the back door. In just two weeks, it is already being used to silence those who criticise Islam — its practices and its history. The Shadow Justice Secretary, @NJ_Timothy, was reported by a Labour MP to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, labelled an “Islamophobe,” and faced calls from the Prime Minister to resign — all for criticising mass Muslim prayer in Trafalgar Square. When FSU External Affairs Officer @_ConnieShaw appeared on LBC to discuss his comments, she was accused of perpetuating racism simply for expressing a different view to the presenter Matthew Wright. After the interview, a caller criticised Matthew Wright for “closing her down.” He defended his actions, claiming Connie was “putting out anti-Muslim hatred,” later adding on Bluesky that he “can’t tolerate racism, however it’s dressed up.” A central issue with the definition is the decision to include “prejudicial stereotyping” as a form of “anti-Muslim hostility” because Islam is not a race. This risks making it far more difficult for individuals — including public officials and media outlets — to discuss issues such as the grooming gangs scandal or Islamist extremism. When Communities Secretary Steve Reed introduced the definition, he assured the public that criticism of Islamic practices or Muslims would not be labelled as hostile. Two weeks on, it is already being weaponised to silence legitimate criticism of Islam. Watch Connie Shaw on @GBNews 👇

🚨 Trump: “We shot down three of our own planes with Patriot missiles… but the pilots survived.” Read that again. U.S. systems took out U.S. aircraft. And it’s being framed as a success. What a MESS! This is genuinely embarrassing.

Here we are again. I've been in this place a while and had very few chances to say even a handful of words on the subject of the Puberty Blockers Trial. We had 2 minutes to speak in the debate. 2 minutes to state that little children cannot decide or consent to banned drugs.

BREAKING   Scotland Yard has confirmed that Morgan McSweeney reported the theft of his phone to them on October 20 last year   They took down ***the wrong address*** and assumed the offence had taken place in East London rather than Westminster   As a result they could not identify a suspect and the case was closed   The Times has been told officers were 'too busy' to speak to Morgan McSweeney directly about it   Having established the error following the report by The Sun on Sunday they have amended the report   Worth bearing in mind that this was the theft of the phone with the prime minister's number, the number of every cabinet minister, sensitive WhatsApps, messages, emails… you name it. This was NOT an ordinary phone Starmer: “On Monday, 20 October police received a report from a man in his 40s alleging that his phone had been snatched.   “The incident was recorded as having taken place in Belgrave Street, E1.   “A review of the allegation, including a consideration of whether there was available CCTV, did not identify any realistic lines of enquiry. The investigation was subsequently closed.   “In the course of responding to a recent media enquiry, we became aware that the address was entered incorrectly at the time of the initial call and should instead have been recorded as Belgrave Road, Pimlico.   “Having identified this error, the report will be amended and the assessment of whether there is available evidence revisited."
