Every tired parent carrying the weight of bills, school runs, long shifts, and sleepless nights; we see you. The world may never clap for the sacrifices you make daily, but your children are living proof of your strength. One day, they’ll understand the love behind every struggle. Keep pushing. ❤️

Happy International Women’s Day to the incredible women of our Sickle Cell community. To the warriors living with SCD: your resilience is a masterclass in strength. To the mothers and caregivers: your advocacy is the backbone of our progress. Today, we celebrate your bravery and renew our commitment to a future where every woman can live a life defined by her dreams, not her pain. To the world: Know your Sickle Cell Status, it is the cardinal way of fighting Sickle Cell. Together we can fight Sickle Cell.

Today we attended the Launch of the National Mandatory Newborn screening for Sickle Cell Disease where Dr. Diana Atwine highlighted the importance of newborn screening and early medical care in preventing organ damage and reducing mortality rates. Given that sickle cell disease is a genetic condition with expensive treatment options, she advocated for premarital testing, enhanced training for healthcare professionals, and a more robust supply of screening kits in clinics. Appreciation to @MinofHealthUG @DianaAtwine for this initiative towards a Sickle Cell Free Uganda.
