Emirates resumes operations
Emirates will resume operations. Passengers who have confirmed bookings for this afternoon’s flights may proceed to the airport. This includes customers transiting in Dubai, if their connecting flight is also operating.
Customers can check the flight schedule for upcoming flights, as well as book seats to travel via emirat.es/nowoperating.
Emirates continues to monitor the situation, and we will develop our operational schedule accordingly.
We would like to thank our customers for their understanding and patience. The safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority and will not be compromised.

George on the money to highlight.
More questions should be asked about the funding split.
IRFU have 4 equal responsibilities but not 4 equal responses.

Leinster 24 Ulster 20. "If Ulster had a bench, they'd have won that game." Bernard Jackman's comment on @PremSportsTV surely speaks of a truth hiding in plain sight. The IRFU own four franchises in the same league, and there's no conflict of interest?

@jim_demps What’s your solution Jim?
4 pro teams compared to how many in France?
English

A good piece here in L’equipe that should be setting off alarm bells in Ireland
The French XV in the u20 semi final had 8491 minutes of pro game time this season. England with 2973. The Irish 15 had less than 300 mins and that was split between 2 Munster players

A good piece in L'Equipe looking at JIFF rules (players coming through French academies) In place since 2010 and has been bearing fruit for a few seasons lequipe.fr/Rugby/Article/…

I cannot wrap my head around Sales kicking strategy.
Work really hard to get into the opposition half by keeping ball in hand and playing wide wide, get into oppo half, try a chip that is never on. Lose possession. La Rochelle kick long down field . Repeat the process. #SALvLAR

@ros_watts @RugbyInsideLine You may take out all the Irish players on top of JGP and Aki if it’s a “British” side.
English

@RugbyInsideLine Sorry but it should be a British side!!! Scotland / Ireland may love to field foreigners but Gibson Park, Aki, Van der Merwe shouldn’t be remotely eligible!

High Performance Planning 📈and a free EBook!
This picture represents one of the most high performance strategies I’ve been a part of with @teamgb and the rugby 7s squads.
Both in 2016 where we won 🥈 and the 2020 campaign, had one common problem to solve.
➡️Bringing together players from different nations to gel and play at an optimum level over 12 weeks (Rio prep) or 5months (Tokyo prep)
The physical preparation was very different for both these campaigns, with different strategies required because the game was different and the players too.
What you may be surprised to here is we didn’t fitness test once in the lead up to Tokyo. But we had a specific reason for why.
In the 2016 prep we had 34players to choose from, and in 2021 we had 24. Therefore maximising player availability and balancing that against functional overreaching and rotation of players in training looked very different.
The way I problem solved and the questions I asked throughout didn’t change though.
We needed to know what success looked like at key times:
✅ in competition
✅ in travel
✅ in training
We also needed to know the plan, and how we would prepare to adapt it
There was also a conscious effort to connect our high performance decisions to a greater purpose as part of a wider @teamgb team - creating relatedness in everything we did.
If you’d like to read more about the 10 key principles I use in performance planning, comment “performance” by replying below and I’ll send you a link to a free ebook detailing each principle.

🗞 An assistant manager is also on the agenda for #mufc’s recruitment team with an ex-player preferred due to the need to unify the dressing room. Rio Ferdinand has put himself forward for the role but club officials remain unconvinced of him. [@StrettyNews]

@SteveBallCSCS @matt_blunk @mboyle1959 Didn’t say either of those things. It’s grand I’ll tell my pals to walk backwards down the stairs from now on to save their knees!
English

@Syno_Mark @matt_blunk @mboyle1959 So if it’s hip dominant there’s no benefit to the muscles moving the knee?
Is extension the only thing that counts in a “knee dominant” exercise?
English

@SteveBallCSCS @matt_blunk @mboyle1959 In turn making it more hip dominant no? Do you just leave out any knee dominant movement in case you’re sore down the line?
English

@matt_blunk @mboyle1959 @Syno_Mark This is where an experienced fitness professional weighs the risks and benefits and helps determine the best course of action. ie vertical shin on a split squat has a lower orthopedic cost on both the spine and the knee
English

@mboyle1959 You were mentioning knees initially. Can see your point but I’d imagine it’s trivial. Could avoidance of particular movements/loading patterns increase injury or pain when you inevitably do load your spine in general life?
English

@Syno_Mark But, my point is that the “ collateral effect” of back squats on the spine might be decreased by choosing a unilateral activity? We are discussing choices in this concept of orthopedic cost.
English

@mboyle1959 My guess would be no. We know the research backs resistance training for long term health, so I don’t know if the fundamental physiological adaptations from training differ from a SL squat to a bi-lateral for eg. Could be wrong though 🤷🏻♂️
English

@Syno_Mark @Titans A cowboys fan? Probably support the Yankees and Lakers too😂 would get good money to see those 2 in the final!
