How many people go out an buy art these days. Like, im assuming were talking about literal pictures here. Shits free all over the internet unless youre doing it for business reasons and ive got bad news for you. Graphic designers are already being replaced. Most people that buy art for like their house see it on a website and buy it without questioning whether the person selling it did it themselves or used ai to generate it. The only people buying REAL, good, expensive art are rich. And theyve got people that verify shits authentic before they drop 2 million. So what is it were really talking about here. When i need a book cover done, i go to a cover artist. Do you think i care how he gets it done? I care that its good and will help my book sell.

Because building a house takes more than simply knowing of the existence of a hammer. Generative AI too, is more than just asking and receiving. You're familiar with jokes about the Jinn, are you not? Careful what you ask for... The point is, the use of language in generative AI is an artform with hints of leadership and storytelling all mixed into one flowing, orchestrated utterance of creation. A skill far too many lack.

How much does it pay? Genuinely asking. My experience from the US (where I grew up) is people pound the table about skills shortages and when you ask what they’re paying, it’s equivalent to working at Walmart in a no-skill job.

This is something that always bothered me about Trump. I had voted for him and was therefore part of the faction he was trying to appease, but I found it pretty shocking & off putting that he literally only cared about the people who voted for him.
