Earlier this fall I presented a petition in Parliament in support of the Hazara community. My hope is that the people of Afghanistan will once again be able to liberate their country, and that all communities will be able to live together in peace and freedom.

Today, we remember the victims of the Hazara genocide. The Hazara people have endured systematic violence, targeted attacks, and decades of persecution for their faith and identity. On this memorial day, we honour the lives lost and stand in solidarity with Hazara communities across Canada and the world.
