Kannada dynasties ruled over TN, KL and others parts of South for 2300+ years TN, KL many parts of south have been under various Kannada rulers for 2300+ years. Most of these records come from Tamil work itself. Tamilians in KA have an entry date but presence of Kannada in areas of TN is historic and antique. As per legends the pandyas came from a sunken island, so they are not natives to present TN area. Many parts of TN, KL were under direct rule of the various Kannada dynasties, right from the times of chola, chera, pandya. The earliest reference of a Kannada dynasty ruling parts of TN comes from the references of EruMaiNadu, with capital as EruMaiNoor from the Mauryan era dating back to 4thC. BCE. There is also a reference from 205 BCE, the Chola king taking help from EruMaiNoor to invade Ceylon. Badami. Chalukyas from 6th C. AD to - 8thC. AD have intermittently ruled several parts of TN after defeating Pallavas. The helpless exiled chola king kulotunga III sought help from the Hoyssala King "Veera BallaLa II" to rescue his kingdom from pandyas. The HoyssaLas defeated the pandiyas leading to extension of the defeated cholas by another 70 years. The bleeding pandiyan territory was rescued from the atrocities of madurai sultanates through the help of KarNata Samrajya, when Kumara KampaNNa, the Commander of KarNata Samrajya and Son of Bukka Raya I defeated the brutal madurai sultanates and then he freed & merged the pandian lands in KarNata Samrajya. It was then the people of madurai celebrated the victory of Kannadigas on tamil lands over the end of barbaric madurai sultanates.
