Request to UPSC: Postpone Prelims Due to Border Tensions @DoPTGoI @DoptSecretary We respectfully urge you to consider postponing the upcoming Prelims exam in light of the India-Pakistan border tensions. Though a ceasefire has been declared, blackouts still continue in several border districts due to frequent drone activity, disrupting life and preparation for hundreds of aspirants living in these zones. UPSC has always stood for fairness, equity, and accessibility. We urge you to uphold those values now. This is not about delay, it's about justice for aspirants who live in uncertainty while chasing a dream meant to serve the nation. #UPSCPrelims2025 #EqualOpportunityForAll

My sincere ask of @UPSC_0fficial, @DoPTGoI & @DoptSecretary to postpone this year’s prelims exam scheduled to be held soon. Please look at the plight of CSE aspirants, specially ones residing in those areas where blackouts/ curfews are being conducted. These aspirants have put their life on the line to be able to prepare/ appear for the exam. Postponing it close to the date/ after a week from now will not solve any purpose as each passing day would be more harrowing for aspirants. It’s a request. Consider the plight of the young bright minds and timely announce the postponement of the exam, even if it is indefinite. My heart goes out to you. Please take care. Today also is going to be a long night.

1. Armed forces officers writing the UPSC this year now can't. 2. Students in border/sensitive areas face blackouts and internet shutdowns. 3. Unwise to divert admin and forces to help conduct the exam when we are on alert. 4. UPSC Test Centres may be vulnerable. The agency responsible for recruiting empathetic civil services should be inclusive. Please, UPSC, @DoPTGoI, postpone the Prelims. This is not fair to so many people. Its still not too late.

𝐔𝐏𝐒𝐂 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝"-𝐔𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐓 The date of Prelims scheduled on May 25,2025,should be deferred, sine die, on practical considerations, in view of the on-going exchange of hostilities between India and Pakistan. The UPSC aspirants especially those from bordering States and union territories, like J&K, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Punjab, are adversely impacted. Their studies are already affected due to air-raid sirens and blackouts. There is no sign of early end of hostilities. The UPSC should be sensitive to their problems in the face of shelling, relocation and lack of level-playing field vis-a-vis those from other states and UTs. Further, several schools, identified as sub-centres/ venues for the one-day examination in the bordering states/UTs have already been closed and would not be available. Decision on postponement must be taken on priority by the competent authority to overcome uncertainty facing the unfortunate aspirants. Ministry of Defence, Government of India
All media channels, digital platforms and individuals are advised to refrain from live coverage or real-time reporting of defence operations and movement of security forces. Disclosure of such sensitive or source-based information may jeopardize operational effectiveness and endanger lives. Past incidents like the #KargilWar, 26/11 attacks, and the #Kandahar hijacking underscore the risks of premature reporting. As per clause 6(1)(p) of the Cable Television Networks (Amendment) Rules, 2021, only periodic briefings by designated officials are permitted during anti-terror operations. All stakeholders are urged to exercise vigilance, sensitivity, and responsibility in coverage, upholding the highest standards in the service of the nation. 🇮🇳 Read more: mib.gov.in/sites/default/… #MediaAdvisory #NationalSecurity #MIBIndia #ResponsibleReporting @rajnathsingh @DefenceMinIndia @SethSanjayMP @HQ_IDS_India @adgpi @indiannavy @IAF_MCC @PIB_India

#PostponeUPSCPrelims2025 I strongly support the call for postponing the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exams scheduled on 25th May 2025, considering the escalating national security situation and widespread uncertainty caused by the ongoing conflict. Many areas, particularly in states like Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat, are facing disruptions, including blackouts and heightened security alerts. These challenges, coupled with internet restrictions, travel difficulties, and heightened stress levels, are significantly impacting the preparation of thousands of aspirants. Several universities and colleges have already postponed their exams scheduled for May, acknowledging the need for a conducive environment for academic and competitive evaluations. It is crucial that the same consideration be extended to the UPSC Prelims, given its national importance and the need to ensure a fair and equitable opportunity for all candidates. In light of these unprecedented circumstances, I earnestly request the #UPSC to postpone the Prelims exams scheduled on 25th May and announce a new date to alleviate the stress and uncertainty faced by aspirants nationwide. #PostponeUPSCPrelims #UPSC2025

In these uncertain times, fairness matters. If major events are being cancelled, UPSC should consider postponing Prelims too. Students need more time. #UPSC2025

Keeping the security of the aspirants in the border states in mind, UPSC should postpone the upcoming Prelims exam. Many aspirants are struggling with electricity, drills, sirens, blackouts. Also, many aspirants have centers in different cities. Very unsafe to travel.

#UPSC2025 #upscprelims

Request for #Postponement of the UPSC Prelims 2025 25th May 2025 को होने वाली UPSC Prelims परिक्षा को स्थगित किया जाए 🙏🏻 I support the demand of the aspirants requesting for postponement of the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exams scheduled on 25th May 2025 , in face of the escalating national security concerns and uncertainty due to the ongoing conflict. There is already a blackout in few districts across States specially J&K , Rajasthan , Punjab , Himachal Pradesh , Haryana, Gujarat and many others are on alert. Moreover the internet restrictions, travel disruptions , physiological stress and anxiety must be affecting the preparation of thousands of aspirants. Many universities & colleges have already postponed the exams scheduled in May . A peaceful environment is crucial for national level exam like Civil services. So humbly request the #UPSC to consider postponement of the Prelims exams scheduled on 25th May and notify the next date to lessen the stress and anxiety levels of candidates across the country , and offering an equitable fair opportunity to all aspirants . #PostponeUPSCPrelims #Prelims2025

Given the uncertain situation and lack of clarity over the situation in the coming weeks - aspirants already under massive duress + preparation for mock drills when they should really be doing mock tests - there is a strong case for postponing the upsc prelims exam to a date with more predictable situation. RT if you support it. #upscprelims #postponseprelims
