Were Canada to ban floor crossing, we would be suppressing the individual minds of those we elect, and further concentrating power in party leaders. As things stand now, floor crossing protects independence and keeps pressure on leaders to treat their colleagues well lest they watch those colleagues head elsewhere. Floor crossing – and the threat of it – protects us from a system where those we elect turn into mindless drones serving nothing more than the centralized will of ‘the leader.’

@legallymsjuno 95% of Canadians couldn’t pick their MP out of a photo with their name under it. You vote for the party.

Conservatives clutching pearls over 'floor crossers' like it's the end of democracy: 'Voters were betrayed!' Bro, we elect people, not branded merchandise. If your MP suddenly realizes your party jumped the shark, they should follow their conscience or the voters who sent them, not the party logo. That's literally how midterms work in the USA: voters punish or reward shifts every 2 years by flipping seats left and right. No sacred party loyalty required. If the people hate the crosser, they boot 'em next cycle. Democracy isn't a prison tattoo. It's a choose-your-own-adventure with accountability at the ballot box. Cry harder. 😂

@Reil76 It doesn’t mean loving them to a party forever dipshit - it’s locking them to their constituents, the people that chose the party that they represent, for a certain time frame. It’s antidemocratic and said MPs should have to face their constituents before they do so!

If floor crossing truly went against democracy, we would not be voting for individual MPs at all, we would be voting only for parties. In Canada, we elect a local representative in each riding, not a fixed seat for a political party. That means the person elected is the MP, and they are accountable to their constituents, not permanently bound to a party label. When an MP chooses to cross the floor, the election result is not cancelled, and no votes are erased. The same elected representative continues to serve the same riding. What changes is the party they sit with in Parliament, not the fact that they were chosen by voters. If democracy meant locking MPs to a party forever, then voters would have no real choice beyond selecting a party list. That is not how Canada’s system works. Floor crossing can be controversial, but it exists because MPs are elected as individuals within a parliamentary democracy where accountability happens at the ballot box, not through party handcuffs mid term.

@SpencerFernando They party was elected not the individual. Don’t get it twisted. It is anti-democratic to a tee.

Floor crossing – and the threat of it – protects us from a system where those we elect turn into mindless drones serving nothing more than the centralized will of ‘the leader.’ So, whether you agree with Gladu’s decision or not, it is essential to protect the right of MPs to cross the floor. The individual mind is the most precious resource we have.

Suspect Shot In Vaughan Home Invasion Has Over 45 Charges, Since 2020 A male suspect is facing charges after being wounded during an attempted armed home invasion in Vaughan early Tuesday morning. According to York Regional Police, officers were called to a residence near Carrville Woods Circle and Crimson Forest Drive at approximately 12:50 a.m. on March 17, 2026, following reports of a shooting. Investigators say multiple suspects, at least one of whom was armed with a firearm, forcibly entered the home. During the incident, an occupant retrieved a legally owned and properly stored firearm and fired at the intruders, prompting them to flee the scene. Police said the suspects were last seen leaving the area in a black pickup truck before officers arrived. No residents inside the home were physically injured. A few hours later, authorities were notified that a man suffering from a gunshot wound had been dropped off at a hospital in the Toronto area. Investigators later determined the individual had been injured during the Vaughan home invasion and was transported to hospital shortly afterward. Police have since laid charges against the injured suspect, Trestin Cassanova-Alman, 24 of no fixed address Cassanova-Alman Criminal History July 2020 -Charged with possession of fentanyl, cocaine and crystal meth for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime October 2020 -17 charges for Five violent armed robberies and an armed carjacking where an eight-year-old girl was taken with the stolen vehicle. The police won’t be there when it counts. Get a PAL. Buy a short barrelled shotgun. Secure it legally, but in away that it’s easily accessible. Shotguns look menacing AF and even the sound of racking the action while wielding it might be enough to scare off home invaders. If not, too bad for them because shotguns are simple and effective to use. They’re low risk to over penetrate walls which reduces the risks to other occupants and neighbours. They’re loud and disorienting which can unnerve attackers and alert neighbours. They can and will disable or eliminate the threat to you or your family with authority. Don’t be a victim. The more of us who push back against our criminal element, the safer we all become.

mark cuban just laid out the exact playbook for making money with AI agents. pick one vertical. learn the flows. become the AI team they never hired. he's right. but he left out the how. i've been doing this for 3 months. here's what it actually looks like: week 1: i called 12 local businesses and asked one question. "what's the most annoying part of your day?" the pool company: "we lose 11 jobs a week because nobody follows up cancellations." the PT clinic: "insurance verification takes 3 hours every morning." the cleaning company: "we quote in 2 days. our competitor quotes in 2 hours." week 2: i built every single one of those workflows. → pool company cancellation recovery - 6 min → PT clinic insurance verification - 11 min → cleaning company instant quote generator - 7 min → dog groomer appointment + waitlist manager - 9 min → pest control follow-up sequence - 4 min average build time: 7.4 minutes. average close rate when you build it live in front of them: 70%. week 3: $10,750 upfront + $1,200/mo recurring. zero proposals. zero decks. zero "let me get back to you." they watched it work. they paid on the spot. cuban said "you don't need a CS degree or VC money." he's right. you need one question, one tool, and the willingness to build it in front of them. i documented the entire framework in a free PDF: → the 1-question discovery script (word for word) → 6 copy-paste workflow prompts by industry → pricing guide (what to charge per workflow type) → the live demo script that closes 7 out of 10 → full MCP setup walkthrough (5 min install) comment "CUBAN" and i'll send it. consultants charge $15K for a discovery workshop. i just gave you the playbook for free. synta(.)io - describe the workflow in plain english. it builds, deploys, and fixes itself.
