@ENGLANDSHERO @JMcMurdockMP A Labour donor has said he wants to pay for him, has reached out - but that he hasn't returned his call. If Vladimir Putin said he wants to finance Reform it wouldn't be an issue unless he actually does.

The Oxford educated, BBC linked writer is, by default, the Uniparty candidate. We know the Uniparty are pretending that this by-election isn’t real… There is just one problem with that… It is. Here’s the thing. Labour and the Tories have a historic chance to democratically replace Nigel with one of their own. Each party could put their very best candidate in. Each party could make the case that they’re best placed to lead and prove the white noise from SW1 has teeth. Except they can’t. Because they are weak. Weak on polling Weak on detail Weak on results Weak on mandate So what have they done? They’ve clubbed together. They’ve all admitted defeat and waived the white flag on day one. Perhaps more cowardly still is that they are using this bin character as a shield against the humiliation of the inevitable drubbing Nigel would give all their candidates. Nigel is about to get a mandate to carry on as the most important politician in Britain. What mandate does Burnham have?

@almwatt @JMcMurdockMP They have been discussing a candidate. They can do that all they like as long as they provide due prominence. The same as Reform had a candidate v Burnham; or there were other candidates v Farage in 24.

@JMcMurdockMP The BBC have been illegally promoting him before any polling with the hope that he might take all the other votes a literal uniparty candidate. The amount of airtime they owe Farage is immense

@d5_rss @DPJHodges He really isn't. He is going to get all of that and instead of being able to say: "you, told um once, you told um twice, tell um again"... "he will instead have to say you told um once, you told Count bin face.. now tell um again". It's a farce.

@Testr355 @DPJHodges Because the kangaroo court was going to be dragged out for 12 months by a bunch of hate-filled shysters. He's making them irrelevant.

@d5_rss @DPJHodges Why have the by-election then? Farage could have carried on campaigning on these issues but now he is debating whether to nationalise Adele.

@DPJHodges So tiresome already. Trillions in debt. Borrowing billions simply to pay debt interest. Highest taxation since the war. Ridiculous energy bills due to net zero. Illegal immigrants pouring in. Dreadful Public services..

@Polly778899 Burnham seems to be the chosen WEF puppet. He is exactly the self-serving, basically dishonest, greedy little chancer they like.

Starmer has never been PM and there hasn't been one since 1990, except Truss. He's just the latest operative for the Davos billionaires who will remove him when they're ready for their next puppet to take control.

@Polly778899 @DPJHodges The WEF, who we are now by Reform told is represented by a bin who doesn't want to win an election he is standing, might not be all that clever.

@DPJHodges Thing is, Britons don't know about Tony Blair linking up with George Soros from 1997 and the extraordinary coincidence that Blair's HR DEI climate and open borders policies were the same as Soros' policies. Now Alex Soros is at the heart of Labour and the same story continues!

@portraitinflesh @DPJHodges Farage was at his best in EU Parliament where he could make a sporadic speech giving the EU hard truths that would be picked up by TV news (hard for EU Parl stuff) - "your currency is failing"; "you have the charisma of a damp rag and the appearance of a low grade bank clerk".

@portraitinflesh @DPJHodges He used to be better than Trump in many ways - less bullying, cleverer, more comedic. But he has seen Trump's success and wishes to emulate it here. I don't think it is as effective in the UK.

@PaulEmbery Probably right. But it is why the main parties love this by-election: It makes Farage look so ludicrous his literal main challenger is a freak with a bin who doesn't even want to win - and because they are taking him seriously, he is getting more attention.

I like a bit of political satire as much as the next man. And novelty candidates often bring some welcome light relief to our politics. But I firmly predict that the whole Binface thing will, for most people, have become incredibly tedious within a couple of weeks.

Count Binface will not win Clacton and anyone who thinks he can is absolutely deluded. I predict that there will be more spoilt ballots than votes for Binface, and potentially all of the other non-Farage candidates combined. At most, Binface might achieve a very distant second place, and if lucky a saved deposit. Farage will win with Assad margins - 70-80%, with the 2006 Haltemprice by-election as the model. Most of those who oppose Farage will just stay home.

@NBash696552 @WalkAlanWalk @afneil I disagree. Bray was annoying as he interrupts. CBF doesn't; he is only getting the moment in the Sun because Farage called the By-election. It is a farce and so he is the perfect candidate.

@WalkAlanWalk @afneil My sentiments exactly. It's a one line gag that the annoying bloke at work still tells days after everyone's heard it. This is just an ego trip while everyone else is desperate for something of substance. Same with the monster raving loony party. The joke was last funny in 1972

@jacobLadder9 @DPJHodges I think they are fighting this the wrong way. If I were Farage, I would play into it. Fighting him insane as they are making him appear credible - and then you look at the guy in the bin. Optics matter and this is the maddest political optics ever - far worse than Truss..

@apiratepenzance @LukeTryl resolve itself if all went wrong because he didn't need to campaign. Now, he needs to make this argument that the bin is actually the Establishment in disguise. Of course, optically this is ridiculous and undermines him on everything.

Right now Clacton gambit looks like a mistake for Farage. Though cross-party over egging of Bin Face risks backfiring & turning the election back into Farage win when he likely wins comfortably (not ideal parallel for lots of reasons but this feels v Hartlepool Scargill 2001)
