People keep asking "what jobs will AI destroy?" Wrong question. Instead, ask what a brilliant 14-year-old in West Virginia can now do that he could never do before. Previously all his relatives went into the mine bc that was the only door open to them. He was largely doomed because of where he was born. A kid growing up in that same holler today can build an AI company from his bedroom. Think about what that actually means for opportunity in America. The Doomers are wrong. These new tools will make the system more meritocratic, more democratized, and more distributed than ever before.

Chamath: Taiwan Loses Its Strategic Importance in 18 Months @chamath: “ We're 18 months from Taiwan not being an important moment of conversation the way it is today. Why 18 months? Because we are at a point where we're probably 1-2 nanometers away from being able to do what we need Taiwan to strategically do for us. And so as we scale up our chip fabs, as we get more capacity, and interestingly, there are these orthogonal technologies being developed. I don't know if you guys saw, but Neuralink was showcasing a machine that is literally operating at the almost nanometer scale to do the brain operations for the implantation, all automatically. When you have the dexterity and the capability mechanically to make these things, the real reason then is a very different one than what it is today. Today, it's economic. And if you take that off the table, I think we'll have a very different attitude to Taiwan.”

New category I bet will emerge: “experts” Subagent-as-a-service that performs specialized tasks using proprietary data/process. E.g. for legal AI, makes more sense for your main agent to be Codex/Claude, and for the sauce to come from the Harveys of the world as a tool call.

We found and fixed two issues that could explain this degradation of the capability of GPT-5.5 in Codex over the last ~ 48 hours. We are monitoring over the coming hours to fully confirm and I will reset usage limits this evening. Apologies and now is the time for /fast maxxing.
Tibo@thsottiaux

Codex team is aware of reports of GPT-5.5 performing worse for some users and investigating. We don't have anything conclusive yet and systems are healthy but we will share updates as we go.

GITHUB JUST CREATED AN OFFICIAL CERTIFICATION FOR THE MOST IN-DEMAND DEVELOPER ROLE OF 2026. It is called Agentic AI Developer. GH-600. And it is the first formal signal that running AI agent teams is now a recognized engineering discipline with a credential behind it. Not a prompt engineer. Not a vibe coder. An Agentic AI Developer. The person who operates, supervises, and integrates AI agents across the entire software development lifecycle. The person who knows where agents fail in production. The person who understands how to build autonomous workflows that do not introduce catastrophic failure modes into CI/CD pipelines. The person every engineering team is going to need and almost none of them have right now. GitHub certifying this role changes the hiring conversation permanently. Before GH-600: "Do you work with AI agents?" is an interview question with no standard answer. After GH-600: the credential tells the hiring manager exactly what you know and what you can do before the interview starts. The engineers who get certified in the first wave of GH-600 will have a credential for a role that has more demand than supply for the next 3 to 5 years. The engineers who wait until it is mainstream will be competing with everyone who moved first. If you are already working with GitHub Copilot or building agent-driven workflows you are already doing this job. GH-600 is how you prove it. Bookmark this. Follow @cyrilXBT for every AI certification worth your time the moment it drops.

We’re introducing a new GitHub Certified: Agentic AI Developer (GH-600). As AI agents become part of modern development workflows, this role-based certification focuses on how developers and teams operate, supervise, and integrate agents across the SDLC. If you’re already working with tools like GitHub Copilot or exploring agent-driven workflows, we’d love your input. Learn more and get involved. msft.it/6013vRHHZ

you should not do this, my advice as someone who was prosecuted for securities fraud for similar circumstances. judges and prosecutors do not like memes. i have had to define 'trolling' in court to a jury as 'whimsical commentary intended to delight readers and not given for the truth'. angry lawyer: 'you mean LYING!?!?!'

asking people to read ai-generated text is offensive. this is not because ai text is intrinsically bad. rather, the author has not paid a cost to write the text himself. this cost is a credible signal he finds its communication important. so: not paying that cost is telling
