@nyunggai In practice won’t this just give the ruling parties a monopoly over law making, wrapped in virtue signaling? This is the playbook after all.

A single race will determine what laws are passed by the Victorian Parliament. This is a superior third chamber based on race. It was how Apartheid South Africa operated. One race, white people determined the law. In Victoria a single race, Aboriginal, will determine the law.

This exposes the utterly dangerous ideology embraced by Albanese — and proves exactly why he is unfit to hold office. His idea world is one where there is a single source of truth, enforced by suffocating groupthink, where any alternate opinions are brutally censored. This is pure totalitarian ideology. It’s the same cancerous thinking that doomed communism to catastrophic failure. After the disastrous experience of COVID, you’d think anyone with half a brain would realise how toxic and dangerous this is. But not Albanese. Deep down, he’s nothing but an authoritarian communist.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese criticizes people getting news from social media because it's "misinformation," and not "consistent" like legacy news outlets. Who here trusts the "consistent" legacy media?

Our RedBridge Accent polling on petrol prices tells you everything you need to know about the Trump political risk in Australia. 61% of all voters blame Trump for rising fuel costs. Only 14% blame Albanese. Now add a 100% tariff on Australian pharmaceuticals. hitting our drugmakers harder than almost anyone else on the planet. This is the environment any Australian politician or commentator has to navigate when they’re seen nodding along to MAGA world. An environment where an old ally has created a fuel crisis so significant that people cannot afford to drive to work and one that now treats Australian companies worse than Russia. The One Nation number is the most revealing. Even 39% of One Nation voters blame Trump for petrol prices. These are voters who are culturally sympathetic to the populist right. And still, nearly four in ten point the finger at Washington. Any conservative figure who spent the last year cosying up to Trump’s orbit now has to explain why Australian medicines are being hit at the maximum possible rate while other countries got carve-outs. These conservative figures may have thought that with Trump, they had scored a culture war win. Instead, a cost-of-living liability and a sovereign risk just walked through their front door.

NEWS: OpenAI just announced that it has officially closed their latest funding round with $122 billion in committed capital at a post money valuation of $852 billion. "We are now generating $2B in revenue per month. At this stage, we are growing revenue four times faster than the companies who defined the Internet and mobile eras, including Alphabet and Meta. ChatGPT has more than 900 million weekly active users, and over 50 million subscribers. Search usage has nearly tripled in a year, and our ads pilot reached more than $100 million in ARR in under six weeks. Momentum is just as strong on the enterprise side, which now makes up more than 40% of our revenue, and is on track to reach parity with consumer by the end of 2026. GPT‑5.4 is driving record engagement across agentic workflows. Our APIs now process more than 15 billion tokens per minute. Codex now serves over 2 million weekly users, up 5x in the past three months, with usage growing more than 70% month over month."

I strongly recommend that everyone interested in the current state of Australia and its place in the world watch the full #Insiders interview. Hastie is just about spot on across the board. It is clear he understands the problems, and cares about us enough to want to solve them. Really solve them. I have grabbed a particularly interesting clip, where the ABC public servant David Speers tries to sell Chinese made batteries as some kind of ‘gotcha’, but Hastie just nails him. Batteries made in China will never fix our energy problems. Drilling, mining and using our resources here will. Rebuilding our infrastructure here will. And fixing the diabolical 1970's style industrial relations system will. We just have to get off our arses and get out of our own way before it's too late. Go Hastie. Get 'em. I just want Australia back.

The job you held five years ago and the age of your dog have absolutely nothing to do with your suitability as a tenant. That’s why we’re bringing in a simple, standard application form for all rentals. Renters are regularly asked to provide excessive amounts of information on their applications. Financial statements detailing spending habits. Contact information for past employers. It’s unnecessary, it’s a waste of time, and if it causes you to miss out on a house, it's unfair. So we're changing it. One simple, standard form, making it easier for renters.

Andrew Hastie has blasted President Trump for starting a war with no end date or clear strategic objective. Hastie, a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, said voters needed reminding that One Nation is a strong supporter of the war against Iran, a point Pauline Hanson reaffirmed again on Wednesday. Hastie declined to support the war and opposed any suggestion that Australian personnel should be sent to help clean up the mess. “President Trump thought he could go in and win the war in a week. And right now, Iran has the world economy held to ransom." “I’m not going to send young Australians to die in a conflict that we don’t know an end state to, and there’s no clear strategic objective.”

This is the worst story I've ever heard. It's also perfectly emblematic of the decline of western civilization. Open the floodgates to the foreign hordes. Watch helplessly as they rape our wives and children. Then euthanize their victims so that they won't go around complaining about it.

Breaking: remigration is coming to Europe. Right now, only 20% of migrants ordered to leave the EU actually do. Today, Parliament voted to advance the Return Regulation through the legislative process. A final vote could come as early as autumn 2026. What would this mean in practice? The centrepiece would be return hubs: detention facilities outside EU territory where people could be held for up to two years while their case is finalised. No more waiting inside Europe. A single Return Order would apply across all 27 member states, so moving to another country would no longer buy more time. Police would share biometric data bloc-wide. Under Article 23, authorities could raid homes and potentially NGO offices to find people subject to removal orders. Deportation could proceed even while a legal challenge is still ongoing. Governments could cut benefits, revoke work permits, and imprison anyone who refuses to cooperate. If removal becomes fast and credible, the incentive to enter irregularly collapses. What's your take on this?

This is literally the dumbest post and we are all dumber for having to read it. All the ai companies are trying to give away ai as cheap as possible so all consumers have access to it. So it is AI that works for all of us. His solution is to stop building datacenters in the USA, even though AI is digital and can be accessed from anywhere on the planet by anyone on the planet. We need a moratorium on 🧠🪱in Congress. This is why 👇
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders

We are rapidly creating technology that could surpass human intelligence, with enormous risks to jobs, society and humanity itself. AI must work for all of us, not just a handful of billionaires. That’s why I’m introducing a moratorium on new AI data centers.

If anything, updates need to go in the other direction with less geofencing. And root problem (bot farms) need to be addressed. Geofencing clearly at play in the X algo always seemed to me as a remnant of the early Jack Dorsey days, when early social was all about local community building. That’s not where the world is at anymore. @DrewPavlou you seen this?

Starting Thursday, we'll be updating our revenue sharing incentives to better reward the content we want on X: We will be giving more weight to impressions from your home region—to encourage content that resonates with people in your country, in neighboring countries and people who speak your language. While we appreciate everyone's opinion on American politics, we hope this will disincentivize gaming the attention of US or Japanese accounts and instead, drive diverse conversations on the platform. We invite creators to start building an audience locally. X will be a much richer community when there's relevant posts for people in all parts of the world.
