1. Baptism is NOT salvific. We are saved by grace through faith 2. Candace Owens doesn’t share the truth of The Gospel on her platform 3. She is literally a force of evil 4. The fact the Roman Catholic Church would confirm this vile woman, shows how much discernment they lack

Interesting. That's exactly what the Bible says: Matthew 24:13 "But the one who endures to the end will be saved." Hebrews 3:14 "For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end." 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 "Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain." 2 Timothy 2:12 "If we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us." Hmm... Seems to me the Bible says our salvation is dependent on our faithfulness to the end, which involves doing. Then how do you square that with the Bible also saying we are saved by grace alone? We ARE clearly saved by grace, but we actually have to DO something to accept it, and prove that we haven't just casually said, Lord, Lord, in hopes of an easy win. Matthew 7:21-23 (ESV) "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’" Context matters. Regardless. I'm not going to convince you of anything, and vice-versa. I wish you the best in working out your own salvation. God bless.

@TheFreeSpud @RockWallBibles @conservmillen From the LDS website, “salvation is conditional, depending on an individuals continuing faithfulness… keeping the commandments of God.” I would disagree that I have taken 2 Nephi 25:23 out of context. The ground of a person’s salvation includes works in LDS theology.

Uh, ok, zero, zip, nada. Gotcha. So these verses then do not exist: 1 Corinthians 15:40-42 (the primary verse LDS teachings cite for three degrees of glory): "There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead..." (KJV) Matthew 5:19: "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Explicit "least" vs. "great" distinctions in the kingdom. 1 Corinthians 3:8-15: "Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour... If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." 1 Peter 3:18–20 & 4:6 Christ preaching to "spirits in prison." 1 Corinthians 15:29 Baptism for the dead (proxy work). Revelation 20:12–13 (directly supports the idea of judgment according to works): "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works." (KJV) You are welcome to learn more. Really easy to find the LDS church website if you're interested in what we REALLY believe.

Excellent job at taking that single verse out of context. Try reading the whole Book of Mormon, and not just the one verse your pastor loves to pounce on: 2 Nephi 10:24 "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; and remember, after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved." Moroni 10:32–33 "Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God. And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ..." Yes, we boldly make the claim. And here is the biblical evidence for apostasy: Old Testament Prophecies (foretelling loss of truth and divine direction): Isaiah 24:5-6: Transgressed laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant; earth defiled and cursed. Isaiah 29:13-14: People draw near with lips but hearts far; fear taught by precepts of men, leads to a "marvellous work and a wonder" (restoration). Amos 8:11-12: Famine, not of bread but of hearing the words of the Lord; people wander seeking but do not find it. New Testament Warnings (apostles describing internal falling away, false teachers, and loss of the original Church): Matthew 24:9-11: Many offended; false prophets deceive many. Acts 20:28-30: Grievous wolves enter the flock; men arise speaking perverse things to draw away disciples. Galatians 1:6-8: Some quickly removed to another gospel; anathema if preaching differently. 1 Corinthians 1:10-12; 11:18-19: Contentions and divisions; heresies among believers. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 (esp. v. 3): "Falling away" first before the second coming; man of sin revealed. 2 Timothy 1:15: All in Asia turned away from Paul. 2 Timothy 3:1-5: Perilous times; form of godliness but denying its power. 2 Timothy 4:3-4: Not endure sound doctrine; heap teachers and turn to fables. 1 Timothy 4:1-3: In latter times some depart from the faith, forbidding marriage and commanding abstinence from foods. 2 Peter 2:1-3: False teachers bring in damnable heresies; many follow their pernicious ways. Revelation 3:14-16: Church lukewarm, neither cold nor hot. But these are all verses anyone can interpret to support their own assertions. We have additional evidence, namely the testimonies of modern prophets: All 18 prophets (Presidents of the Church) and all 156 unique apostles who have served in the Latter-Day Quorum of the Twelve Apostles have testified of the Great Apostasy and the Restoration of Christ's Church. This is a foundational, unanimous doctrine affirmed repeatedly in official Church teachings, General Conference addresses, scriptures (e.g., Joseph Smith-History, Doctrine and Covenants), manuals, and writings by every one of them, from Joseph Smith through the current leadership (including Dallin H. Oaks as the 18th president). Zero have recanted or denied that testimony. No historical or official record exists of any prophet or apostle (in the Quorum) rejecting or withdrawing their affirmation of the Apostasy (loss of priesthood authority and the primitive Church after the original Apostles) or the Restoration (through Joseph Smith, including priesthood keys restored by angels). Searches of Church records, histories, and public statements yield no such cases. Excommunications or departures among lower leaders (e.g., Seventies) have occasionally involved other issues, but never this core claim by prophets or Quorum apostles. The testimony has remained consistent across 196 years and every dispensation leader because it is presented as revealed truth essential to the Church’s identity and mission. Of the original Latter-Day Quorum of the Twelve (called in 1835), several were excommunicated or disfellowshipped in the 1830s-1840s (estimates range from 7-9 of the first 12 at some point). And still, even of those, ZERO denied the Great Apostasy or the divine Restoration. But greater than all this evidence and testimony is this: 1 John 2:27: "But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie-just as it has taught you, abide in him." You are welcome to learn more at: churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/g…

LDS makes the claim - not Christendom. So the way this works, is that if you want to make the case for something in order to claim to be the reformed church with that authority - then the onus is on you to support that claim with scripture and evidence as to why it’s true. I’m not making the claim that succession was ever broken. Scripture supports this and I’ve already given it. There are also plenty of sources (canon, church records, etc) going all the way back to the apostolic church fathers that show the “chain of custody” so to speak. It’s already there. It already exists. LDS makes the claim it was broken - so support that claim with evidence/scripture and then when you’ve done that, show why LDS gets to claim the title of the “restored church” and by what authority do they have to make that claim. Make sense? It should. Pretty straightforward.

That's just not accurate. We Latter-Day Saints fully believe Jesus is exactly who He claims: Alpha and Omega. He is co-eternal with the Father, without beginning or end. Really, it's not that hard in today's world to do your own research. You don't need to rely on your pastor for this. The Bible clearly does not teach that grace and faith are all there is to it. To believe so is to focus solely on isolated verses and ignore the totality of the text. Here, let me help you: Grok easily identified numerous verses for us: 'Grace initiates and empowers salvation, but Scripture shows it is not the only determining factor. Genuine faith produces obedience, and final judgment involves works. Faith Must Produce Works (Not Dead Faith) James 2:14-17, 24, 26 — “What good is it... if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?... Faith apart from works is dead... A person is justified by works and not by faith alone... Faith without works is dead.” James 2:18-20 — “Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works... Faith apart from works is useless.” Obedience and Works Evidence True Faith and Salvation Matthew 7:21 — “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom... but the one who does the will of my Father.” Luke 6:46 — “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?” John 14:15, 21 — “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Hebrews 5:9 — “[Christ] became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him.” Romans 6:16 — “You are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin... or of obedience, which leads to righteousness.” Ephesians 2:10 — “We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Judgment According to Works and Deeds Romans 2:6-8 — “[God] will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory... eternal life; but... wrath... to those who... obey unrighteousness.” 2 Corinthians 5:10 — “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.” Revelation 20:12-13 — “The dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done... each one of them, according to what they had done.” Matthew 16:27 — “The Son of Man... will repay each person according to what he has done.” 1 Peter 1:17 — “[The Father] who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds.” Ecclesiastes 12:14 — “God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.” Other Key Verses Matthew 25:31-46 (Sheep and Goats) — Judgment based on acts of mercy done (or not) to “the least of these.” 1 Corinthians 3:12-15 — Works tested by fire; some saved “as through fire” with loss of reward. Galatians 6:7-9 — “Whatever one sows, that will he also reap... the one who sows to the Spirit will... reap eternal life.” Philippians 2:12 — “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Summary: Grace saves us (Eph 2:8-9), but living faith obeys, produces fruit, and determines our standing at judgment. Grace empowers works rather than opposing them.' -Grok

Great job Allie:) This is to me is the difference that matters most:) & I love my LDS friends dearly:) The Bible says what Christ did is enough & by trusting in him you have his righteousness given to you:) You are 1000% redeemed & made righteous by faith & you will be exalted to highest kingdom for eternity:) In LDS theology, in addition to faith in Christ, the Ordinances of Salvation are absolutely required to live with God & be exalted to the highest kingdom & zero belief in God is required to enter the Telestial kingdom which is in LDS theology a kingdom of glory.

"At its core it is a polytheistic religion that doesn’t remotely resemble Christianity." That is your opinion. And no at it's core it is not a polytheistic religion. It is monaltric. The Bible is full of scriptures that creedal traditions have dismissed because they don't fit the narrative. A quick discussion with Grok, based solely in the text of the Bible and with no appeal to extra-biblical creeds reveals the incredible consistency: The Bible is remarkably consistent on this point when read plainly: many divine beings (elohim, sons of God, heavenly host), but only one supreme God (Yahweh / the Father) who alone is to be worshipped, obeyed, and covenanted with. And you're right to echo Matthew 7:14: “For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and few there be that find it.” Jesus repeatedly warned that the majority would follow broad traditions, human reasoning, or comfortable creeds rather than the direct words of scripture: Matthew 7:13-14 — Wide gate vs. narrow gate. Matthew 15:8-9 — “This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.” Mark 7:7-8 — “They worship me in vain; they teach as doctrines the precepts of men… You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.” A plain reading of the divine council texts (Psalm 82, Deuteronomy 32, Job 1-2, etc.) and the repeated “above all gods” statements gets sidelined by later philosophical definitions of monotheism that the biblical authors never articulated. The text is clear; the narrow way of accepting what it actually says is harder for most. Few find it because it requires letting scripture correct tradition instead of the other way around.

Not quite sure why many Christians resist the role of works. The Bible is pretty clear on their importance. Here is a list of some of the Bible verses provided by Grok: Faith Must Produce Works (Not Dead Faith) James 2:14-17, 24, 26 — “What good is it... if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Allie - You don't tell a person who wants to be skinny, don't worry, someone else did the work.. they sacrificed for you... they did all the work for you so you don't have to and all you have to do is believe... this idea would keep that person unhealthy, unchanged and unhappy. It's not enough for somebody to sit back and watch someone else work out for you. What Jacob is saying, is that Christ did all the work to show everyone the way... the way to happiness, the way to a sinless life, the way to everlasting life with the father... Christ offers the workout, the gym, the exercises and the encouragement to get going for free (that's grace), so a person can become like Him. Then he invites us to participate, not sit back and do nothing. Hence the phrase "follow me" this is called Faith in action or work.
