Trump is a one-of-one in every single way. He’s not only the most disgusting, immoral, ignorant human being to ever hold public office.
He’s also an unprecedented threat to democracy and everything America has ever stood for.

Weird how this is the litmus test. Whether you reinforce your mailbox with concrete or install some heavy steel box, what difference does it make? Is it your responsibility to make sure your property is easy to break or steal so people don’t get hurt when they make that choice?

This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory. Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies. (Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

Reinforcing internally is intended to conceal the effect that will result if you vandalize it. A heavy duty mailbox projects to the vandal that they will likely lose if they attempt it. Projecting strength is good and may be all that is required to convince vandals to give up destroying mailboxes.
It is better to discourage the vandals by making the risk clear than to conceal the risk - the ultimate goal is that they cease vandalism.
You agree it would be better for them to cease vandalism before they shatter their forearms right?
I guess you’ve never done anything that you regret as a teenager or young adult but I can think of a lot of instances where I deserved a worse outcome and it could have sent me down a bad path in life.
This prompt really is not about a mailbox, but about the projection of defensive force and allowing aggressors the opportunity to end their poor behavior.
