Again, why would the US care about a $1 per barrel fee on the strait..? That’s on the other countries who use it to work out. The US has said no nukes forever. If this ends the nuclear program once and for all + destroyed their war industry (it did) it succeeded in its main goals.

@TheMeatSurgeon @olhorsey @FirstSquawk Industrial base set back 50 years but they are monetizing the strait in the same way Trump bitched and moaned about Panama, now all Americans are paying higher prices. I do agree that we should make it so that Trump thinks that we "won" to limit the damage to what we have done.

TRUMP ON TREUTH SOCIAL: THE UNITED STATES WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH IRAN, WHICH WE HAVE DETERMINED HAS GONE THROUGH WHAT WILL BE A VERY PRODUCTIVE REGIME CHANGE! THERE WILL BE NO ENRICHMENT OF URANIUM, AND THE UNITED STATES WILL, WORKING WITH IRAN, DIG UP AND REMOVE ALL OF THE DEEPLY BURIED (B-2 BOMBERS) NUCLEAR “DUST.” IT IS NOW, AND HAS BEEN, UNDER VERY EXACTING SATELLITE SURVEILLANCE (SPACE FORCE!). NOTHING HAS BEEN TOUCHED FROM THE DATE OF ATTACK. WE ARE, AND WILL BE, TALKING TARIFF AND SANCTIONS RELIEF WITH IRAN. MANY OF THE 15 POINTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN BEEN AGREED TO. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER. PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

@FirstSquawk Damn, dude. That is not what the proposed agreement that Iran shared says. There’s been no regime change, the Iranians are better off than before the war, and we’ve put our allies at an even greater distance. Must be what they refer to as the art of the deal!

@jonkarl Let's let terrorists charge for passage of a strait that was once free so long as our hand is in the same cookie jar is quite a take.

This morning, I asked President Trump if he’s okay with the Iranians charging a toll for all ships that go through the Strait of Hormuz, he told me there may be a Joint US-Iran venture to charge tolls: “We’re thinking of doing it as a joint venture. It’s a way of securing it — also securing it from lots of other people.” “It’s a beautiful thing”

JUST IN - Trump says Iran has gone through "what will be a very productive Regime Change," that there will be no "enrichment of Uranium" and U.S. and Iran will "dig up and remove all of the deeply buried (B-2 Bombers) Nuclear 'Dust'."

The ceasefire deal is terrible.....even if it holds. Regime stays in power, gets time to re-organize and rebuild stockpiles, keeps all of its near-weapons grade enriched uranium and the people remain oppressed. Iran will happily open the Strait of Hormuz for that trade.

The negotiation is a negative for our country. We didn’t really get anything out of it and the terrorists in Iran are celebrating. I don’t know why people are acting like this is a win. The Muslims, Woke Reich and Trump haters are using this “negotiation” to attack President Trump while they praise Allies of Tucker Carlson and call for the 25th Amendment to be used against President Trump. The ceasefire will fail. And Trump will be proven right about how this regime needs to be wiped out. It has already failed. The negotiation has been a failure so those who are celebrating while undermining Trump are misguided. This isn’t anything to write home about.

No, TheMeatSurgeon's claim is not accurate based on publicly available reporting about Iran's statements and proposals. Background on the PlansThe US proposed a 15-point framework (delivered via Pakistani intermediaries around March 2026) that focused on Iranian concessions: dismantling key nuclear sites (Natanz, Isfahan, Fordow), ending uranium enrichment on Iranian soil, limits on ballistic missiles, curbing support for proxies, and fully reopening the Strait of Hormuz. In exchange, it offered sanctions relief and US assistance with a monitored civilian nuclear program. Iran repeatedly described this as "extremely ambitious," "illogical," "maximalist," "unreasonable," and "not acceptable." Iran formally rejected the US 15-point plan and instead issued its own 10-point proposal (around April 6, 2026). Key elements included a permanent end to hostilities (not just a short ceasefire), guarantees against future attacks, lifting of all sanctions, regional de-escalation (including ending strikes on Hezbollah), safe passage protocols for the Strait of Hormuz, reconstruction aid, and other demands reflecting Iran's conditions after battlefield developments. What Iranian Statements Actually SaidIranian officials and state media (e.g., via IRNA, Press TV, and the Supreme National Security Council) emphasized that they had rejected the US 15-point proposal outright and were advancing their own 10-point plan as the basis for any further talks. They described compiling and formalizing "our own set of demands" and framed the US plan as unacceptable under threats or sanctions. There is no evidence in reporting that an official Iranian statement said "they [Iran] will refer to the US 15-point plan" as a basis for negotiations. Instead:Iran positioned its 10-point plan as the counter-offer. Trump later described Iran's 10-point proposal as a "workable basis on which to negotiate" (while noting it wasn't "good enough" initially) and agreed to a two-week ceasefire tied to temporary reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for further talks. The online debate in the thread appears to stem from spin: some users claim the US "lost" or that Iran dictated terms, while others (like the poster) argue the US 15-point plan remains central. Reporting shows Iran rejected the 15-point framework and forced a pivot toward negotiating around elements of its own 10-point response, with the short-term ceasefire as a pragmatic de-escalation step rather than full acceptance of the US proposal.Bottom LineTheMeatSurgeon's specific assertion—that the "Iranian statement literally says THEY will refer to US 15 point plan"—does not match the documented Iranian position or statements, which explicitly rejected the US plan and promoted their alternative. The situation remains fluid (as of April 8, 2026), with the two-week window allowing for further negotiations, but the claim overstates or mischaracterizes Iran's wording and stance.

@TheMeatSurgeon @SuitablePolitic It was quite clear their strengths were in neither their navy or air force. I've been hearing the 90% number for weeks. Clear bullshit. Everything we destroyed and everyone we killed is going to be replaced. Trump let Netanyahu bring him to war without knowing what he was in for

@LittleEgypt77 @JackPosobiec “As a basis for negotiations.” Negotiations. As in continued bickering back and forth, no deal made. US has a 15 point plan. Ya’ll are retarded cucks that failed remedial comprehension. Only thing agreed to was 2 week ceasefire and 2 weeks open access to the strait. 🤡

The amount of people who are taking #Iran’s regime’s SNSC statement and its comic spin seriously is astounding. President Trump didn’t agree to that 10 point plan. All President Trump said was that it was a “workable basis on which to negotiate.” And Araghchi referenced President Trump’s 15 point plan in his statement. Those are two extremely different things. It doesn’t bind the U.S. to anything. And if you think the president is suddenly going to agree to a JCPOA-like deal along with withdrawing U.S. troops, compensation, Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz, and the rest after the damage Iran has incurred, you should lay down and wait quietly until the feeling passes. In the end, putting the ceasefire aside, both sides on paper are light years apart. The idea that they will be able to agree to a comprehensive deal within 15 days from April 10 stretches credulity. At best there could be an extension. But it could also set the stage for another U.S. and Israeli strike. A replay of February 2026.

@SuitablePolitic Yeah turns out starting this war was incredibly stupid and we stood to gain next to nothing which is why Trump realized the best case scenario was finding an off-ramp. Regime change was never going to happen without a ground invasion. Sorry to burst your bubble

@Justifiably_Me What are they “negotiating” if the US already agreed..? Spoiler, the US did not agree, and Iran knows that. Social media ran with fake statements and created confusion. It’s a ceasefire not an end to the war. NOTHING is agreed besides cessation of hostilities (strait included)

Iran is declaring they won and America will accept their 10 Point Plan, which includes removing all of our bases in the Gulf, pay reparations to Iran and getting Israel to stop attacking their neighbors. We didn't agree to those things, so I don't know what happens in two weeks.

Approximately 32,000 vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz in 2023. Assuming similar volume, a notional $2M toll per vessel would net Iran ~$64B annually. That is nearly double Iran’s total revenue of $34B from oil exports in 2024.
Gregory Brew@gbrew24

If the war truly ends with Iran in possession of the strait of Hormuz--as is currently the case--and if negotiations proceed according to Iran's 10-points, which include full sanctions relief and Iran charging tolls for use of the strait, then the outcome of the war will be clear. And it won't be a US victory.
