@901Gregory @cw_3245 @ettingermentum Excited to see what new leverage can be used against recalcitrant senators by Dem presidents working under the Trump v USA ruling. Designate a recalcitrant senator a suspected terrorist and ship them to Gitmo? Seems within the scope of official duties!

@cw_3245 @TheMilo @ettingermentum It wasn't behind closed doors! Negotiations were covered in the press, in real time. The Biden-Manchin arguments were front page for months on end.

@901Gregory @cw_3245 @ettingermentum If he cared, he would have aired that shit publicly, and loudly announced investigations into Manchin’s sketchy-ass CEO daughter. He was more than happy to hide his legislative inadequacies behind Manchin and Sinema and whoever else they were covering for.

@901Gregory @cw_3245 @ettingermentum At least the raptors knew how to systematically test the fences for weaknesses. Everyone has a breaking point, Biden did not care to find Manchin’s. In fact, every post-LBJ Dem has made a point of not testing the fences of Congress, and we are all the worse for it.

@cw_3245 @ettingermentum What are you talking about? Passing a public option requires either a supermajority in the Senate or elimination of the filibuster. If Manchin is your 50th vote, you can't just "effort" that reality away. You're in make-believe land. Wake up.

Workers can't easily leave production (no exit), have no ownership of the means of production, have no control over organizational power, and no skill monopolies. They generally have to pursue collective action as a strategy to advance themselves then.

Yes, having to work for a living is part of what makes someone working class. But many capitalists have to work to survive too. And all managers with high degrees of autonomy and authority in the workplaces do. EOW was good to not wave away with question of the middle class.

The 1951 Yankees won 98 games and captured the World Series over the Giants, a passing of the torch as Mickey Mantle debuted and Joe DiMaggio played his final season. Vic Raschi won 21. The dynasty rolled on.

I think people who have never won an election in a red state or a purple state should consider fewer lectures on what America wants. In 80% Dem districts, hats off to getting younger, more liberal candidates elected. That is not the same as defeating MAGA at the ballot box. The people who have done that are folks like Slotkin, Gallego, Warnock, Ossoff, Rosen. And if you think Hillary Clinton is unpopular in a Dem primary in MI, you are definitely online too much.
Deep Singh Badhesha@DeepNotShallow

If you ran ads saying "Abdul El-Sayed winning would make a top Hillary Clinton Advisor miserable" he'd jump up another 10% in the polls. Auntie, I don't think you know how much America hates your brand of politics.

@TheMilo @briebriejoy @DanielDenvir Okay then, honest question: In a case where Dems are pulling fuckery, and keeping DSA candidates off their ballot line, are you just as open to running on the Green party line?

‼️Gone Left (w/ @DanielDenvir)‼️ Host of The Dig podcast joins Bad Faith to discuss the DSA sweep & whether the new elected socialist candidates might be willing to act as a block to change the Democratic Party before the Democratic Party changes them. If the DSA refuses to take party building seriously, will the 'Tucker Carlson right' be first to harness imperialist, working class energy to achieve a third party break from the duopoly? patreon.com/badfaithpodcas…

Good time to say that @DanielDenvir has a really good series on The Dig with Abdel Razzaq Takriti called Thawra that goes over like a century of Arab Politics leading to the Palestinian Revolution and ends basically right after the 1982 Lebanon War. Highly recommend.

After talking in circles with host of The Dig Podcast Daniel Denvir about the structural un-viability of third parties in the US electoral system, Briahna Joy Gray decides to mount her favorite dead horse ("Force the Vote"), and Denvir promptly hangs up on her. 😭

@RiderOfKarma @briebriejoy @DanielDenvir The last Green to hold a state legislative chamber vacated years ago and they weren’t elected as Green. They hold no seats at the state level. I was extremely precise with my wording.

@TheMilo @briebriejoy @DanielDenvir You are functionally illiterate I gave you the link to read it: “Since 1985, Greens have won at least 1699 races, including FIVE for state legislatures,” So that about 1700 Wins for Greens, Zero for DSA with no party, no ballot access. Thanks for playing yourself.

@RiderOfKarma @briebriejoy @DanielDenvir I said state legislatures. There are 50 states. Together they have 99 legislative chambers because Nebraska only has one house. Across those 99 chambers are 7,386 seats, last time a Green held one of those was….2020….?
