In the perfect world if I was Stan Bowman, I’d keep the powder dry and make no moves at the deadline. This team is so far away from contending that an even acquiring a defencemen at the deadline is not going to help them. You run this lineup to the playoffs (hope you make it) and live with the result. Then in the off season, the handcuffs of the NMC are gone, over $20 million+ in cap space AND then you force Nurse to be moved. That’s when you retool the team. The simple test to see if someone is above average with making financial decisions: 1) Very little money in a checking account (idle cash is making money somewhere else) 2) Have started an IRA or Roth Ira 3) They pay more than the bare minimum on credit/car loans
