Another very hot day tomorrow, highs of 34°c or 35°c away from coasts. Much cooler particularly in the east on Wednesday with a brisk easterly. Hot Thursday another 30°c day likely then slowly cooling down mid 20’s Friday sunny spells. Cooler and showery next week.

Met Office are now forecasting 35C both BH Monday and Tuesday in central London. Totally absurd that we look to potentially experience hottest temperatures since summer 2022 and we’re only in May.

There appears a small chance of a thunderstorm outbreak on Tuesday. Very sizeable CAPE values to be tapped into should thunderstorms develop. The risk is currently on the low side, but should we get any to develop, there would be the possibility of some severe thunderstorms.

I see high pressure and warm and dry weather clinging on into the start of June for the South I think the pattern will slowly change to something more changeable after the 29/30th, but slow to affect the South Fine weather for most out to 28/29th as said previously

Breaking: It now appears pendulum has shifted to Tuesday being hottest day of this heatwave rather than bank holiday Monday. They will both be very hot days the ECMWF gives 33C in capital on Monday and 34C on Tuesday. This is an unprecedented forecast for what is still spring. I would not rule out 35C (95F), it is so extreme maybe the June record from 1976 is not entirely safe.

As expected, there were no storms across southern England overnight Unfortunately there is nothing wet at all in the forecast for the rest of the month Just too warm and too dry We do have instability aloft on several days but convective inhibitors look too strong

Up to 24C I think we forget even that is 6C above average. The warm weather is back only intensifying further in coming days. Likely to see high 20s tomorrow and sunny!

A hot bank holiday weekend perhaps hottest on record becomes clear. I am >90% sure we’ll see 30C broken in capital, it will be first time since 2005. I would also give a 50% chance we see record high May temperatures. Heathrow’s oldest record of 31.7C from May 1953 to beat.

The past few days has seen a wobbly but increasingly convincing trend in the modelling for more settled & warmer weather in Europe next week. There's now more of a ridge of high pressure between the lows over the Atlantic & southeast Europe.

@vrw123 It remains a pitiful outlook there was a suggestion this week would be wetter but again that has largely faded. Good hope though for some heavy showers tomorrow… better than nothing.

Looking for something warmer? Well I have good news for you. Compelling signs of a marked pattern change to warm ridge influence moving northwards across UK later next week. It could potentially become very warm, dry and sunny. A possible early introduction to summer.

Its been a very wet 24 hrs across vast swathes of France with much of the NW seeing 1-2 inches of rain and again much of the C & Southern parts of France into the Gulf Of Genoa. Very slow moving frontal systems, Thunderstorms and the very slow moving nature of the rainfall leading to issues.
