🇿🇦“Only Two of Our Fighter Jets Are Working Because We Fight on the Ground” — Motshekga‼️
Pretoria — Defence minister Angie Motshekga has reassured South Africans that there is absolutely no reason to panic over the country’s collapsing air force capability, explaining that South Africa has “evolved beyond unnecessary flying.”
Speaking during what was supposed to be a serious parliamentary briefing, Motshekga reportedly defended the fact that only two fighter jets are operational by reminding MPs that “wars in Africa mostly happen on the ground anyway.”
“We are an African nation,” she allegedly explained confidently. “Why must we spend billions making planes fly when our soldiers already know how to walk?”
The minister reportedly added that the remaining grounded Gripen fighter jets are not “broken,” but are instead participating in what she called a “long-term parking strategy.”
Military insiders say the South African Air Force now spends more time washing aircraft than flying them, with one pilot allegedly
Police responded to an incident in Brooklyn Tshwane where a foreign national criminal attempted to jump into a school to steal equipment. During the attempt, he got stuck in the fence spikes, screamed, and sadly passed away. Police forensic teams are now on the scene to collect his body for the mortuary.

@McKay_Dingis024@AlanJBaxterCpt The fact that a company in SA for cannot do business with any SA government business, i.e. tenders, because they don't have any black directors... yet they provide jobs and futures to many black people...
Elon Musk’s latest tirade against South Africa is a masterclass in billionaire bait-and-switch. He claims Starlink is banned solely because he isn’t Black, a narrative he pushes to his 200-million-plus followers as proof of "viciously racist" laws. In reality, the 30% local equity requirement he decries is a standard part of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) framework that hundreds of other U.S. giants, including Microsoft, have navigated for decades without the "drama".
Musk’s "principle" against these rules conveniently ignores that South Africa has already pivoted to accommodate him. As of December 2025, the government introduced Equity Equivalent Investment Programmes (EEIPs), allowing foreign firms like Starlink to skip the equity transfer entirely by investing in local infrastructure and skills. Instead of taking the win, Musk has escalated to hurling expletives at senior diplomats and alleging (without evidence) that he was pressured to "bribe" his way into a license.
The irony is thick: while Musk plays the victim of "reverse racism", his refusal to follow local law is the primary hurdle keeping high-speed internet from the very rural South African communities he claims to want to help. It isn't about the color of his skin; it’s about a billionaire who believes his birthplace owes him a waiver for the same rules everyone else follows.
@PMashatile No, you are just too lazy to transform. Getting somewhere in life requires hard work. 99% of people who got somewhere in life, got their by working for it. Make ut possible for our people to achieve by improving education. Start at the bottom. Build up family values. #ANCMustFall
Let me reiterate this point, without any fear of contradiction, abandoning BBBEE is not an option.
Abandoning BBBEE would mean abandoning transformation itself.
BBBEE is a necessary tool for transformation, essential for achieving economic equality.

This is Piet Els of Kimberley, South Africa. A true "rainbow nation" believer, just like @CNN and @60Minutes, who still paid the ultimate price.
This was a man who opened his heart and his wallet to the new South Africa from day one.
When Nelson Mandela was released in 1990 and first came to Kimberley, Piet Els was right there; the humble, kind-hearted businessman who welcomed him, looked past his acts of terrorism, worked with everyone, and was known as the White man Black people could always turn to for help.
Years later he was still giving. In 2008 he donated R3 million to the ANC at a major fundraiser.
A friend of Mandela. A donor to the ANC. A man who believed in "reconciliation."
Yet none of that saved him.
On 24 January 2018, at 5am on his farm, Carter’s Ridge outside Kimberley, Piet Els (then 86) and his partner were brutally attacked. Beaten with iron rods, tortured, robbed. He fought for his life in ICU for 111 days, but died on 15 May 2018.
Piet Els gave everything to the “new” South Africa, and it still came for him on his own farm. Because he was White. Because every single post-apartheid president made White people the enemy. Because they successfully sold the narrative that White people stole their land, their opportunities and their dreams.
Tolerance is no longer an option.
Coexistence is impossible.
