@newstart_2024 Why would you not just stay on the drug? If you’re not super fucking poor. It pays for itself in terms of reduced food and alcohol and medical issues.

Andrew Huberman got real about Ozempic on Real Time with Bill Maher. It’s incredibly effective — spikes GLP-1 a thousandfold, kills appetite, and even cuts alcohol and sugar cravings. But here’s the problem: it’s expensive, and most people gain all the weight back the moment they stop… unless they’re lifting weights to protect their muscle and metabolism. Huberman’s take: Great tool for people who won’t exercise yet, but the real foundation is still sunlight, sleep, resistance training, and eating real food. Most people just don’t want to do the work. These drugs can help short-term, but they don’t replace the habits that actually keep the weight off long-term. This was a refreshing dose of honesty in a world full of quick-fix hype. Sustainable change still requires effort. Do you think drugs like Ozempic are a smart shortcut or just delaying the real work?

Just a friendly warning. We don’t even make $200k per year in Congress despite working nearly 140 days. If we aren’t properly compensated, a lot of us will go to the private sector and you will be left with some real idiots in Congress.

Allow me to provide a swift dose of reality to this discourse... The Chargers social job isn't underpaying anyone. A thousand people probably applied for this role. It's a calculated bet and it's asking if the right person will bet on themselves. 12 to 24 months. That's how long the person will be in this role. Go in get reps inside one of the best operations in the league, and come out the other side as a director-level candidate with a resume line that carries weight in every room. I want everyone in this industry to make as much money as possible. But salaries are decided by the market. Entry level at a pro sports team in a high-demand creative role has always been competitive for a reason. A harsh reality... It's market rate for what the role actually is... a starting point to launch a career. Show up, absorb everything, and leave better than you came. Whoever gets the job could likely be a Director of Social in professional sports in less than 5 years and much of that would've been accelerated by getting this role.

@micyoung75 Do you know these officers personally and can attest to their qualifications? You know for a fact that they were not DEI promotes? DEI has historically been a key promotion board precept. Are you posting that this precept was removed in this particular board?

This is the part that keeps getting buried under the raw numbers. Hegseth spent months pressuring Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to remove four decorated colonels from the one-star promotion list. Two Black men. Two women. Driscoll refused, because their records demanded it. So Hegseth pulled their names himself… which legal experts say he likely had no authority to do. The defense secretary is supposed to approve or reject the entire list, precisely to prevent this kind of targeted discrimination. Then Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George - the Army’s top officer - asked to meet with Hegseth to discuss the blocked promotions. Hegseth refused to meet. Refused to discuss his decisions at all. Then he fired George. Whose term wasn’t supposed to end until September 2027. Nine U.S. officials across all four branches confirmed the NBC reporting. “There is not a single service that has been immune,” one said. The officers’ attributes being cited for removal include past support for Covid vaccine mandates… and association with Mark Milley. The Pentagon’s response to every outlet that asked: “fake news.” They didn’t dispute a single name.

Hegseth purge of Black and women officers larger than previously reported "Hegseth has taken steps to block or delay promotions for MORE THAN A DOZEN Black and female senior officers across all four branches of the military." nbcnews.com/politics/natio…

@theficouple I can smell the comments already... Where on earth do you find rent for $1200 a month? All the places in the US you are not willing to live. You want these numbers? You have to go where those numbers are

Here's the math: A single person earning $70,000/yr takes home ~$4,500/mo after tax. A realistic budget: -$1,200/mo: Rent -$400/mo: Food - $330/mo: Transportation - $280/mo Utilities/phone - $500/mo: Fun ...Living within their means lets them invest ~$1,600/mo.

@chrismartenson @jackprandelli In all seriousness... Prudhoe Bay Alaska has been "running low" on oil for a decade (600Kbbl/dy down from 1MIL+). But lots of gas in the ground. Gotta keep the pipeline relevant somehow. (And fund the AK petro-state).

Qatar's LNG is offline for 3-5 years The US was already building the replacement North America's LNG export capacity could more than double by 2029. This chart was drawn before the war. Now it looks like a strategic masterplan ♟️ Projects coming online 2026-2029: 🇺🇸 Plaquemines — already ramping 🇺🇸 Corpus Christi Stage III — coming 🇺🇸 Golden Pass — Exxon/QatarEnergy joint venture 🇨🇦 LNG Canada — first Canadian exports 🇺🇸 Port Arthur — major capacity 🇺🇸 Rio Grande — massive scale 🇺🇸 CP2 Phase 1 — next wave 🇺🇸 Woodside Louisiana LNG — 2029 From 11 bcf/day today to 28+ bcf/day by 2029. Ras Laffan produced 10 bcf/day. Now offline for 3-5 years minimum. The gap is enormous. The US filling it is inevitable. Every desperate LNG buyer (China, Japan, Korea, India, Europe ) now has one supplier capable of scaling at this speed. 🇺🇸 America. Iran accidentally handed the US permanent LNG dominance. This chart is the proof🛢️⚡

“I literally turned down 12.9 million dollars to help women. I know who I am and I know what I did. You can never take that from me. And within doing that, the relationship I built with my audience and my fanbase and the people that come up to me now is so much more valuable and important and I feel a lot more fulfilled, like I’ve actually helped people” -@BChickenfry

I turned down $300,000/yr to join the Marines and serve in the Infantry. Worst financial decision of my life, best overall decision of my life. I wouldn’t take it back, wish I was on that MEU right now, and would give anything to be back in the fight.

Imagine you had to choose your life at age 40: Option A: Single. No kids. $10M net worth. Travel anywhere. Total freedom. Quiet house. Quiet holidays. Option B: Married. 3 kids. $1M net worth. Drive a Toyota. Chaos every morning. Loud house. Full dinner table. Be honest, which life are you choosing?

Five years out, when billions of coding agents exist, software development will be largely solved. The traditional moat of “we have better engineers” disappears. Products will be copied, improved, and open-sourced almost instantly. Defensibility will shift away from code itself, toward distribution, data, brand, and community.

Great. A large majority of Texas voters are against your crazy DEI mandates. Also, taking race or sex into consideration when hiring, directly violates the Texas Constitution. When Texans and Americans learn about your Bernie Sanders voting record, you will be toast.

I’m co-authoring legislation to explicitly teach “diversity, equity, and inclusion” in our schools. I’ve also filed House Bill 4111 which would require school districts over a certain size to hire a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer.
