Working long hours is not a sufficient condition for doing great things, but it does appear to be a necessary one, especially in the early stages.

I was asked on a podcast earlier this week if the negative comments still get to me when I publish videos or tweets. The answer to that is still unfortunately "yes." The length of time that they affect me for has gotten shorter but they always still hurt a little. I saw an interview with @Casey recently where he admitted that they still hurt a bit, even for him. My goal is, and always has been, to be helpful. My process is literally "learn, share what I learn (while trying to make it a little entertaining), repeat." I've turned down well over 7-figures worth of potential sponsorships just because I didn't find their product to be something that I found to be genuinely helpful. I've always attempted to put helpfulness and credibility above profit in everything I create. The team that helps me find new sponsors for the channel probably even finds me a bit annoying in how often I reject sponsors. lol I found the ultimate solution to all of this that instantly makes me feel better about what I do though... The solution is talking to people in real life. I go to events and meet people that actually watch my channel consistently and hear about how much it's helped them or how they never miss a video. This always reminds me that there's a vocal minority that is just always looking to be outraged by something or looking for small things to disagree with. But the silent majority of people, who never leave comments, still find what I do helpful or beneficial in some way. When I remember that these are the people I'm making the content for, my spirit is instantly uplifted again. People like @interactivebee, @AGraylin, @CubanJon, @ToddTerrazas, and so many others that I've bumped into recently. Our conversations have had even more impact than you probably realize. :) I was feeling a bit down this morning and even just writing this post has got me excited and energized again.
