@DebLuxon @CambrianNews There's a much deeper story here. I think you've only just scratched the surface... keep going...!

Maximal effort eccentric training has totally different effects from slow lowering phases during normal strength training, not least because different sets of motor units are recruited. Slow lowering phases preferentially develop slow twitch muscle fibers.

@AilsaSnaith I never found it that reliable actually. Tried it for a while as I seem to have a garden that produces half the country's mushroom varieties 😅. Generally I've stuck to a bit of general signposting and the usual ID methods to triple check.

My lawn is filled with these (quite a few birch trees around if that affects things) does anyone know what they are? If they're edible there's at least a week of free dinners 😄

@DiPlagente Ok think you're pretty much spot on - Brown roll-rim (Paxillus involutus) seems most likely. Everything's matching up. Deffo not edible! 😄

@TomRandall2 looks like an Paxillus to me, maybe a Paxillus Rubicundulus or a darker version of a Paxillus involutus. Do not eat them! They are toxic. Will intoxicate your guts, stomach, damage your kidneys, desolve your blood and does other ugly things. Don't even try it!

@JProOriginal Haha, I see what you're saying. Don't worry there is zero keenness for poisoning 😅

@TomRandall2 All shrooms are edible, thing is some of them are edible just once. If you are not 100% sure of the shroom's specie don't do it! I'm a big fan by the way!

I just remembered that I taught a v6 climber how to finger jam yesterday, and I can't even send an outdoor v3 yet. I hope i made @petewhittaker01 and @TomRandall2 proud.

@SandCResearch This entirely makes sense. We intuitively see this in climbing training and have taken it into account for many years.

Using a reverse grip in some overhead movements allows greater anterior deltoid activation, and reduced posterior deltoid activation. It remains to be seen whether this can apply to overhead pressing movements, however.
