My most socialist position is that all NFL, NBA, and MLB playoff games should be on network TV - kids whose parents can’t afford or don’t have streaming services should still be able to watch

I’m glad I learned about the pythagorean theorem instead of taxes in school. It’s really come in handy this pythagorean theorem season

Starting July 1, 2026, federal student loans for medical school will be capped at $50,000 annually and $200,000 total (aggregate) It costs $400,000 to go to medical school minimum. If you go to private, you get to live on $30,000 a year.

@rbarbosa91 @shane_jensen19 That’s the point. People will inherently grab the tube and lines to secure them, realize they are a barrier to the plan in motion, reset attention to your intent, and prepare the equipment for transport.

❓for the Trauma attendings: A severely injured patient is getting resuscitated and needs an operation. No one is doing anything explicitly wrong…but everything is just moving too slowly. How do you get the team to start moving faster (without getting yourself written up)?

@EAST_TRAUMA Always great talking to the surgeons responsible for founding EAST 40 years ago. I hope we have followed you ideas and embody the vision “To be the premier organization for early and mid-career surgeons.” Check out my selfie with them, Bill Schwab, Nicole Fox, and Mayur Patel.

I would start first with the debate about whether we have the statistical power to meaningfully measure surgeon-specific outcomes—most often we do not. jamanetwork.com/journals/jamas…

Important topic at @hopkinssurgery Grand Rounds resident debate. “Should Health Systems Be Required to Publicly Report Procedure-Specific Outcomes at the Individual Surgeon Level?” @jessicamruck vs. Dane Paneitz w/ Mohammed Aref moderating. #Transparency #PublicReporting

How many patients on the trauma service is too many? How many patients can a single surgeon see? What about when they have resident/APP support? ICU patients? See what the current national opinion is from an EAST multicenter survey by Wilson et al: bit.ly/4i6YCbz

@TraumaMPH @SCCM @American_Heart @AmBdSurg We are at that point. There are no data to support changes forcing board certified critical care physicians to recertify these quarterly. If I am wrong someone please correct me. This is just another administrative burden devaluing our contribution to a broken system.

In the 1500s a man could own this for zero money down and have huge tracts of land his children could play in, while still living a life of leisure and overseeing a small workforce in his spare time. RETVRN!
