@rawespresso I guess young people are realising it's not worthwhile working, can't say I blame them. If you can't afford basic housing or a few luxuries, why slave away to make someone else rich

'Nobody wants to work anymore.' Real wages haven't risen since 2008. The 40% tax band kicks in at £50,270 and hasn't moved since 2021. Earn between £100K and £125K and you keep 38p of every extra pound. Every promotion drags more of your salary into a higher tax band, where the government takes more than the rise was worth. Final salary pensions got replaced with auto-enrol pots you fund yourself. Pension age keeps moving. Annual leave entitlements haven't budged in over a decade. Sick pay is £123 a week. Council tax went up 5% this year while the bin men come once a fortnight. Childcare costs more than most second salaries. House prices are ten times average earnings. Loyalty got downsized the second the share price wobbled. Working from home got rescinded the second managers wanted their car parks full again. And the people who did all that are confused about the attitude problem.

Every single male friend of mine, after long conversation, has confessed that they’re not really in love with their long term girlfriends. Their relationships are essentially heterosocial close friendships with affection and benefits
Andy Semenza@Andrew_Semenza

it's bizarre how people describe romantic entanglements as if they are a default state. I wont talk about myself here (I could be insane), but the majority of my close mid-20s male friends have never experienced a whiff of romance, and they are all handsome & thoughtful people

it’s time for my weekly neurodivergent isn’t a synonym for autism and autism does in fact indicate difficulties with detecting social cues no matter how you spin it! we miss the sincere social cues too! let’s also not erase more severe cases of autism!
EvilMowa@EvilMowaa

Hot take: Neurodivergent ppl do get social cues, they just get confused by INAUTHENTIC social cues Society is full of fake smiles and small talk that make no sense I can see your soul is in pain boo, I can't in good conscience be comfortable as you tell me about the weather!

It has always seemed very suspicious how they say autistic people have "social deficits" and "can't read social queues" when observationally, they're literally the easiest, most fun, and most natural people to hang out with
PsyPost.org@PsyPost

A new study shows that individuals with similar levels of autistic traits are naturally drawn to one another. Brain scans reveal they use alternative, highly effective neural strategies to connect, challenging traditional deficit-based models of autism. dlvr.it/TSSN7t

It’s not weird to y’all that not a single billionaire wants to end world poverty? Not even one rich person? It’s just “what they do with their money is up to them”? Yeah, sure- but it’s not WEIRD to you that not ONE single person wants to be a big hero and solve the world’s problems when they LITERALLY could? That’s not bizarre or suspicious?

Measurable how? The only criteria is captured by a questionnaire performed by half trained people. To measure dopamine you'd have to take a brain fluid sample multiple times per day - after each task or event to measure responses. The symptoms are caused by adverse childhood events - the common theme between ALL cases. 'ADHD' is total quackery.
Pavel Trubetskov@PTrubetskov

1 in 13 children worldwide live with ADHD. That's not a difficult kid or bad parenting. It's a dysregulation of dopamine and norepinephrine in the prefrontal cortex — measurable, neurobiological, real. Meta-analysis of 27 studies, children 3–12 (Salari et al., 2023). Girls are missed more often — quieter, less hyperactive. #mentalhealth #ADHD

I’m a chemist. I need to say this - because it’s getting dangerous out there. It’s called chemophobia. And it’s turning scientifically illiterate panic into a personality trait. People are now terrified of: • “artificial chemicals” • molecules made in a lab • pesticides at parts-per-billion • ingredients they can’t pronounce Meanwhile they drink alcohol, inhale smoke, burn fuel, eat plant toxins and scroll on phones built entirely by chemistry. The hypocrisy is unbelievable. Chemistry is not some dark force attacking humanity. Chemistry is: • medicine • fertilizers • vaccines • materials • electronics • clean water • food preservation • modern agriculture • literally your own body Without chemistry, modern civilization collapses frighteningly fast. And yet social media has convinced millions of people that “chemical-free” is a meaningful scientific concept. It isn’t. And when fear replaces chemistry, people stop trusting: • vaccines
• medicines
• food safety
• crop protection
• innovation itself A scientifically illiterate society becomes easy to manipulate. So yes - I will keep defending chemistry. Because chemistry is not the enemy. Chemistry is the reason most of us are alive long enough to complain about it.

Adolescent mental health has become a boutique identity industry which glamorizes personality idiosyncrasies leading to narcissistic self-expression abetted by diagnostic shopping. The "neurodiversity" movement is a Leftist political project.

I am starting to believe that people aren’t only mentally sick anymore, they are simply intentionally evil. And it’s terrifying. Cluster B disorder is a real and very under diagnosed condition. Those people are pre-planning, planning and manipulate others based on their delusions.

I recently spoke to a teacher of 35 years from a school in my former constituency Redditch. She said many children in classrooms who have been labelled neurodiverse are being given dummies to keep them quiet (aka "chew toys") I do find this incomprehensible. How and when did we as a society decide that children as old as 9 or 10 needed to chew dummies in order to be educated? My contact also said that in her view there was nothing medically wrong with these children but they were poorly parented and badly served by the whole system that is telling them there is a medical thing wrong with them. She said she can't freely express her views in the classroom for fear of being ostracised or losing her job. I've written about the SEND system on my substack. I think it is important we approach this debate with understanding but at the same time we should not seek to silence extremely experienced people who have decades of classroom experience. @rachelhmaclean/p-189963484" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">substack.com/@rachelhmaclea

Tony Blair has urged scrapping the ‘unaffordable’ pensions triple lock that protects millions of pensioners, his own think tank claims the system is outdated and too rigid for modern life with costs exploding by £85 billion a year by 2070, the former PM’s report demands it ends after the next election and be replaced by a new ‘lifespan fund’ that forces people to build their own entitlement through work, Blair’s director Tom Smith said Britain’s state pension was built for a different era and we can’t keep pouring money into a system that is increasingly unaffordable, pensioners facing rising bills are now told to accept less while the multi-millionaire ex-leader lectures them on restraint, Thoughts?

OK, so let's talk about sex. I don't know where this myth came from. Men don't have or use sex to maintain power and control. Men don't see sex as degrading for women, generally. This attitude is found in pockets of culture, not men. Culture means it's carried by all within the culture, male or female. It's taught to children. When studied, the only difference in rates of casual sex held between men and women are rooted in a *woman's expectation of social stigma*, not a typical man's application of stigma. Also note the "orgasm gap", another wild card thrown into these arguments by feminists who weaponize sex against men, disappears when women are in long term partnerships of any sort with a man. Even repeated casual sex. researchgate.net/publication/24…

Jessica Pin@jess_ann_pin

They also do it to maintain power and control. The reason is that sex is seen as degrading to women and empowering to men. Thats why men will view a woman as a sexual object in order to degrade her.

Until I get onto penning a tribute to the legend that was Sadie Quinlan - better known to millions as 'Yankee Wally' the nemesis of Sussex Squad trolls, Omid Scobie, Christopher Bouzy and Meghan Markle - please do revisit my April 2021 @SteepleTimes article where I first celebrated this legend and her past 'adventures' also.
