I'm expecting the long tail of edge cases to persist, requiring AI5 for real widely released unsupervised FSD

Let’s be honest. AI4 is cooked. Back in 2019 and 2020, people raved about HW3 in a very similar way, and it was hyped even more than AI4 (by Elon and Tesla). Based on history, the maximum life cycle for a computer like this is 4 years. Guess what? AI4 is approaching the end of its lifecycle. I know this is a hard pill to swallow, and I know this post could have a negative impact on Tesla in the short run due to the Osborne Effect, but it makes literally zero sense to buy an AI4 car right now. The only exception that’s possibly valid is if you can afford TWO new cars in the next 2-3 years. In that case, knock yourself out! You totally deserve it.

@pitdesi I wouldn't worry about waiting for AI5 but it could be worth waiting to see if they add additional camera cleaners as they have on the Robotaxi Model Ys.

@ChuckCook @DirtyTesLa Yep just this past few days 14.2.2.5 took the wrong turn out of a roundabout and another time took a left at a 4-way stop when it was supposed to go straight. It is a safe driver but these nav mistakes add significant travel time and inconvenience, offsetting the benefits of FSD.

@Pirat_Nation This is so stupid because Xbox Series S|X games don’t even use UWP anymore. That is an abandoned Win8 / Xbox One API. All you have to look at is Xbox Play Anywhere titles for a model of how games will be made for Project Helix.

According to a new rumor The next-gen Xbox console, will run new games as Universal Windows Platform (UWP) PC builds via the Windows Store, with no native console SKUs. Legacy titles will run via backward compatibility emulation.
