It’s remarkable to watch mainstream media and so-called experts blame all of Iran’s ills on Trump and the war. They talk as though the IRGC has only just risen to prominence, Tehran has only recently pivoted East, and regional destabilisation is new. This is not serious analysis.

#BREAKING: This is an important case--an intelligence gold mine and a big achievement for law enforcement. A commander of #Iran-backed Kataib #Hezbollah Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi has been arrested and is scheduled to be presented today in federal court for plotting to attack Jewish sites in the U.S., including a synagogue in New York City. "A criminal complaint unsealed on Friday accused the commander, Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, of planning at least 18 attacks in Europe and Canada since late February, in retaliation for the United States and Israel’s attacks on Iran." It's notable that Tehran is using Iraqi Kataib Hezbollah now to plot terror attacks abroad, in the U.S. and throughout Europe. Traditionally KH has been focused on Iraq and attacks throughout the region. nytimes.com/2026/05/15/nyr…

15 MAY 2026 #LANDSAT via @eos_da #LandViewer Kharg Island 9th day without tankers observed loading, since the oil slick on 6 MAY. Primary cause is unknown, but certainly includes pressure from the US Blockade contributing to this. How many tanker loading were missed? Maybe two per day, at 2 Mil bbls per VLCC loading, for about 18 million barrels? For almost $2 billion lost revenue, maybe? Ouch! 😖 See the @UANI Iran War Shipping Update and analysis by @JemimaShelley for more info. This isn’t new—& it’s not a consequence of war. Ali Khamenei, the late supreme leader, operationalised this shift. Pivoting further East toward China & Russia was a central part of Khamenei’s 2019 “2nd Phase” manifesto for the next 40 years. This was the plan, with or without war
Danny (Dennis) Citrinowicz ,داني سيترينوفيتش@citrinowicz

Iran's "new" foreign policy: Not “Neither East nor West,” as Khomeini stated, but rather “More East and no West at all.” That shift is likely to define the future direction of Iranian foreign policy. If in the past the European states particularly the E3, played a meaningful role in mediating with Iran, today that role has increasingly shifted to regional actors led by Pakistan, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Moreover, it is difficult to envision a return of the Europeans as central mediators after the snapback process, especially given the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the very institution that effectively dominates Iran today. Even if Europe does not disappear entirely from the diplomatic landscape, the emerging direction of the Iranian regime points elsewhere. Tehran is likely to place even greater emphasis on deepening ties with China and Russia, while simultaneously strengthening outreach to the Global South, particularly African states, preserving strategic relations with India, and cautiously expanding engagement with parts of the Gulf. In the foreseeable future, it is difficult to see Iran-EU relations recovering in any meaningful or strategic way. It is increasingly becoming “more East, with no West at all”, and that is likely to form the foundation of Iran’s future foreign policy orientation #iran

Malaysia is becoming “a facilitator rather than merely a transit point” for illicit activity. Charlie Brown, UANI Senior Advisor @supbrow via @wapo Malaysia’s Johor state have become a key hub for ship-to-ship transfers involving Iran’s “shadow fleet” — aging tankers that often operate with disabled tracking systems, false identities and opaque ownership structures to conceal the origins of crude bound largely for China. washingtonpost.com/business/2026/…

🇲🇾Malaysia Marine Department PENINSULAR NOTICE TO MARINERS NTM 77(T) / 2026 Trial phase: Implementation of the automatic electronic Ship Reporting system under the mandatory Ship Reporting Systems (STRAITREP) Strait of Malacca 1. Mariners are advised that a trial phase of an automatic electronic ship reporting system, serving as an alternative to the existing manual Mandatory Ship Reporting System (STRAITREP), has been implemented at Klang Vessel Traffic Service (Klang VTS) in the Malacca Strait. 2. The Mandatory Ship Reporting System in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore (STRAITREP) has been in effect since 1st December 1998, using manual communication methods via designated VHF radio channels. Now, with the introduction of this automatic electronic reporting system, Malaysia is moving towards modernization that complies with Resolution MSC.433(98) by the International Maritime Organization (@IMOHQ) 3. This new system will enhance efficiency, safety, and surveillance in our waters through: Automatic AIS Detection: The system will automatically identify vessels entering the reporting point using real-time AIS data. Digital Submission Channel: Vessel operators / crews may now submit ship reports through a secure web portal or by email using a standard reporting template for easier tracking The reporting must be submitted within 24 hours before the vessel enters the STRAITREP reporting points (sector 1 to 6), Strait of Malacca --- ➡️I wonder what happens when False-flagged, Stateless vessels submit their STRAITREP? If this system works, it could help with mitigating Dark Fleet activity. OR it could just force Dark Fleet ships to take alternate routes via the Sunda and Lombok Straits, in Indonesia. Will be watching this carefully. @mercoglianos @tldraanan @MarcusHand1 @ed_fin @JemimaShelley @CollinSLKoh @UANI

@UANI Iran War Shipping Update - May 14, 2026 unitedagainstnucleariran.com/index.php/blog… From February 28, the start of the conflict, to today, UANI has recorded 43 STS transfers of Iranian oil in the Malaysian Eastern Out of Port Limits (EOPL) anchorage, a ghost fleet hotspot approximately 70 km off Malaysia’s coast. All of these transshipments have been spotted in satellite imagery. On 14 MAY, an STS transfer of Iranian crude took place in this anchorage. The feeder in this STS was the Iran flagged tanker DERYA (IMO 9569700) who had been observed in satellite imagery in the EOPL on 11 MAY. Like HUGE (9357183), DERYA also took the uneconomical route through the Indian Ocean and the Lombok Strait in order to avoid interdiction by U.S. naval forces. DERYA had previously appeared in the Gulf of Kutch, attempting to deliver Iranian oil at Sikka, India but departed on 19 APR. @JemimaShelley @TankerTrackers @mercoglianos @MarcusHand1 @amerhadiazmi @brentdsadler @daniel_c_roth @ed_fin

The next time you hear commentators talking about "strategic failure," it's worth reading @CENTCOM's Commander testimony today. Some excerpts: "In less than 40 days of major combat operations, USCENTCOM forces systematically dismantled what #Iran spent four decades and tens of billions of dollars building." "The capabilities on which the regime relied to threaten our forces, coerce our partners, and project power across the region have been substantially degraded. Combined with the damage Operation MIDNIGHT HAMMER inflicted on Iran’s nuclear program, USCENTCOM assesses that Iran can no longer project power across the region, nor pose the persistent threat to the United States or our partners that it did prior to Operation EPIC FURY." "Iran can no longer reliably arm or resupply Lebanese Hezbollah, the Houthis, Hamas, or militia groups in Iraq with advanced weapons...This dynamic presents an opportunity for a generational shift in the regional balance of power." "We damaged or destroyed over 85 percent of Iran’s ballistic missile, drone, and naval defense industrial base. More than 1,450 strikes on weapons manufacturing facilities set the regime’s ability to build and stockpile ballistic missiles and long-range drones back by years. The factories and technical workforce that produced Iran’s ballistic missiles, long-range attack drones, and naval platforms have been degraded to the point that Iran cannot replace its lost capabilities in the near term." "In the air domain, Iran’s air and air defense forces are functionally and operationally irrelevant. Before OEF, the Iranian Air Force flew between 30 and 100 sorties each day. Today that number is zero. We destroyed or rendered non-mission-capable Iran’s fixed-wing airfields, hangars, fuel storage, and munitions stockpiles, and we knocked out 82 percent of its air defense missile systems along with the radar and command architecture that tied them together." "At sea, we destroyed 161 vessels in total across 16 classes of warships, effectively crippling the regime’s ability to operate. We eliminated more than 90 percent of Iran’s once-massive inventory of over 8,000 naval mines, with more than 700 airstrikes on Iranian naval mine targets. In sum, Iran’s navy can no longer claim to be a maritime power, and it cannot project into the Gulf of Oman or the Indian Ocean." "The second-order effects of OEF are significant. More than 2,000 strikes against Iran’s command-andcontrol structures created leadership vacuums, paralysis, and internal confusion. We have seen reporting of desertions, personnel shortages, and signs of regime desperation in their attempts to compel discipline through arrest and execution." "In short: in 38 days, we rolled back 40 years of Iranian military investment." armed-services.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…

The part not conveyed in this interview is how the billions of USD given to Iran’s regime enabled the IRGC to expand its terrorist militias & lethal missile programme—the very missiles it is now using against the U.S. & allies. It also bolstered the IRGC’s repressive apparatus.

Obama on his Iran deal: We pulled it off without firing a missile. We got 97% of their enriched uranium out. There’s no dispute that it worked, and we didn’t have to kill a whole bunch of people or shut down the Strait of Hormuz.

Admit nothing, deny everything, make counter accusations. Iran’s foreign ministry may not be honest but it is consistent in blocking action against Iran’s foreign aggression. Tehran nonetheless insists it can work with its neighbors to develop a regional security plan.

🇮🇷-flagged tankers carrying 🇮🇷🛢️ in the South China Sea: KARIZ (9364112) aka TOUR2 HUGE (9357182) Both 🇮🇷tankers seem to be heading towards the area south of Hong Kong for possible clandestine Ship-to-Ship (StS) transfers. First time recently to see laden 🇮🇷-flagged tankers going beyond the Malaysian EOPL to deliver oil via STS for ultimate delivery to 🇨🇳 Teapot Refineries. Would be a significant surprise to see them actually pull into 🇨🇳 ports, if that happens. What caused this change in operations? ❓ Reaction to Blockade effect? ❓ Exploiting the Trump-XJP summit window of opportunity? ❓Test of US resolve in Western Pacific for blockade & sanctions enforcement? We shall see.... Follow the @UANI Iran War Shipping Updates for details: unitedagainstnucleariran.com/blog @JemimaShelley @TankerTrackers @mercoglianos @ed_fin @brentdsadler @TangAnZhu

🚨BREAKING: #Iran-flagged tanker HUGE (9357183), laden with Iranian crude, is transiting the South China Sea northbound. After departing Chabahar on Apr 14, it likely rerouted via Lombok Strait to evade U.S. interdiction—& could now be heading toward STS site south of Hong Kong.
