I share Paul’s frustration: people are trying to decipher every word from an alphabet soup of US government agencies, when turning their heads eastward would reveal decades of more open research that predate today’s supposed “breaking news.” Answers for this global phenomenon are not going to be found solely in US National Archives; they will be found globally, in the archives, programs, and cultural records of many nations. We have two ears and one mouth for a reason; it might be time to use them to listen beyond the US narrative.

This should be the biggest story in the country right now. Barksdale is the HQ for our B52 nuclear bombers, it's where Bush sheltered on 9/11, and the drones are reported as "far more sophisticated than anything seen in Ukraine ... and well beyond Iranian capabilities."

Robert Bigelow (via @g_knapp), who made it clear the whole thing was fabricated. Or, in Knapp’s words: “bullshit.” As I said before, this is all so silly it ever was allowed to get to this point and that anyone believed him in the first place.

He says that two of those drawings were classified by the AARO, although AARO couldn't classify anything; you had to go to other agencies that did have classification guides. So would that mean in that case that he saw something, it may not have been alien, but it was something very very sensitive that he drew." Tim Phillips: "Correct. You are correct, AARO were not a cabinet-level office. We don't have the authority to classify. We have to go by classification guides - derivative classifiers. So they would use the classification guides, say for the Department of Defence or the Director of National Intelligence or CIA. But that's how we classify - it's called derivative classification. And he's correct. Someone would come in, and we'd look at it. If we thought it was going to compromise sensitive government capabilities secrets, there are methods and ways to protect that and classify it accordingly."
