Today marks a significant milestone for UTMB and the community we are proud to serve. This morning, the @utsystem Board of Regents approved an agreement between UTMB and @BlueZones, officially bringing the Blue Zones Project to Galveston. This approval reflects our longstanding commitment to advancing health and vitality in the communities we serve. The Blue Zones Project is a research-informed population health initiative designed to help communities improve well-being and support longer, healthier lives. Today, at the Board of Regents Meeting, I had the chance to present large capital projects on behalf of ⁦@utmbhealth⁩. It’s a privilege to serve Texas and its constituents. Our students are the future for a booming economy that’s full of opportunities.

Productive day on Capitol Hill! Appreciated the opportunity to visit with members of the Texas delegation – Sen. @JohnCornyn, Rep. @TXRandy14, and @RepBrianBabin – on UTMB’s federal research priorities, including how the Galveston National Laboratory (GNL) is a critical component of our country’s biodefense strategy. Also, greatly enjoyed the opportunity to participate in SIP’s Global Brain Health and Longevity panel in the Russell Senate Building – UTMB continues to develop and deliver on advancing brain health for Texans. Honored to shine a spotlight on UTMB in D.C.
