A woman accosts me on the train to tell me excitedly that she has never seen a woman in a clergy collar before. She has recently arrived in the UK. And she is *thrilled* to learn that she now has a parish church! For all that the CofE gets wrong, these encounters are a delight.

Yesterday at Evensong, in the absence of the Dean (on an ecumenical pilgrimage to Cologne) I had the privilege of admitting four new choristers to @LivCathChoir before the Introit. All under the curious gaze of our 42 probationers, new recruits being inducted into divine service.
