About a month ago, I travelled to Madhubani, Bihar, to report on the killing of Roshan Khatoon. I brought her family’s voice to you through an interview, something that, until then, no one had done. I believed that if people heard them directly, it would spark attention and accountability. After publishing the story, I personally reached out to several individuals, urging them to raise their voices for justice in this case. Unfortunately, many chose to ignore it. That was the moment I truly realised the extent of the damage caused when my account was withheld, and how much it limited my ability to amplify stories that urgently needed attention. A week later, I sought support for pursuing a legal fight. The response, again, was minimal. And two days ago, as the main accused in Roshan Khatoon’s murder walked out on bail, reactions began pouring in from all sides. But it raises a painful question, where was this urgency when it mattered most? I remember one person telling me, “What is the point of a legal fight? We have no faith in the judiciary.” At the time, I struggled to accept that sentiment. Today, it feels difficult to dismiss. What troubles me most is the weight of expectations. When I visited the family, they looked at me with hope, that someone from outside, from the capital, might help bring them closer to justice. Now, I find myself questioning what difference my work has truly made. As journalists, are we now reduced to merely documenting tragedies, rather than being able to influence outcomes? I am deeply disturbed, and I carry a sense of guilt that is hard to shake. #JusticeForRoshanKhatoon

@Gems_of_BJP Withdrawing money from a deceased family member’s account in India should not be so difficult, especially for tribal and less educated people, when getting a death certificate itself is often hard and sometimes corrupted by bribes.

@asmahusna100 @_amitbehere Do you have any problem when people expose bigotry and hypocrisy? If other minorities are also oppressed, then who is stopping you from writing about them?

@_amitbehere Leave Muslims alone. No need to drag them into every conversation. There are other minorities too who are oppressed. But other than that, well said.

Many Hindu and Muslim parents now have one or both kids settled abroad. The difference in their attitudes couldn't be starker. Muslim parents are clearly happy and relieved that their children and grandchildren no longer have to spend their lives in third world Hindu majoritarian gutter society. Loneliness is a price they would gladly pay. UC Hindu parents are puzzled and upset. Modi Ji is great, Hinduism is great, Bharat is great, America has school shootings, America has Trump, why are my children still living there? But the pathetic cowards can't face the truth, even accept it. That MAGA Trump USA is 100 times preferable to their children than Modi's VishwaGuru India. Because it's a very unpalatable truth. Accepting that would mean accepting a lot of things that are very unpleasant. Accepting that their generation failed this country. Fucked it up. So they live their sad, pathetic lives lying to themselves. All the time. India hi accha hain. Apna desh woh apna desh. And it's so obvious. I almost feel sorry for them.

Muslims are already discriminated against and hardly get jobs even when they are qualified. Muslims just form 8-9% of the MNCs but are still being targeted. They want us to believe in a company where 99% of the mid-level and higher management are Hindus, Muslims apparently controlled the flow of the information and managed HRs. Very believable.

In UttamNagar, Tarun got killed accidentally by his drunk friends during assault on a Muslim family. All the men of Muslim family have their limbs broken and are in lockup. A minor was kidnapped and his whereabouts are unknown. Their house has been looted, burnt and demolished.

@FABakhs @RespectedSar @qureshi2_sultan The irony is that you were arguing with me a moment ago, and now you're lecturing others not to argue with me. It's also fascinating that you made so many assumptions from a single sentence.

@RespectedSar @Untraceable_id @qureshi2_sultan Why do want to even argue with a guy who spoilt someone’s effort to counter “madarsachhap(slur)” narrative an a very opportune moment in his style of constructive criticism and started being disrespectful to someone who tried to salvage the situation. He is indeed a genius.

@qureshi2_sultan Saying that a madrasa student has all these skills is also an exaggeration. I say this from experience, as I was myself a madrasa student and even spent some time studying and living in a yateemkhana.

@qureshi2_sultan My point still stands. The standard madrasa student lacks critical thinking, and you cannot compensate for that with other skills. Those skills are great, but my point was specific to critical reasoning.

@RespectedSar @qureshi2_sultan @FABakhs Did I say that I am a genius? Does a person need to be a professional cricketer to comment on cricket? Don’t behave like an andhbhakt. Accept reality and work on it. Without acknowledging what a person lacks, one cannot improve.

@FABakhs @qureshi2_sultan It seems like you also need to work on your logical thinking. If I am writing about A, it doesn't mean I agree with B or consider B better in the same domain.

>Moon illumination 0.02% >Moonset just 1 minute after sunset. >Moon elongation 1.5° & moon should be at least 7° to be visible from profession & advanced telescopes & 10-11° from naked eyes. There is no chance of moon sighting anywhere on Earth today evening. Saudi followed their pre-written calendar & there is nothing wrong in following calendars (but the birth of new moon actually occured 3 hours before the sunset) but they should not pretend to actually see the moon & they should say that they followed the calculations, not the actual moon sighting.

I told you guys, Saudis can even outrun NASA in seeing the impossible moon. Just say that you followed Umm-ul-Qura calendar as always, instead of fooling people around that you actually saw the moon. Anyways, Ramadan Mubarak to whoever is starting from tomorrow.

I agree Deepak is a one in crore exception. Having said that, even the mob isn't entirely representative either. Majority of Hindus are neither communal nor secular. Mostly go with momentum. BJP succeeds because there aren't enough for whom communal hate is a deal breaker.
Amit Behere@_amitbehere

As much respect I have for #DeepakMohammad, I feel he is a very non-representative Hindu, because most Indian Hindus are soulless, worthless nallas ...!!! 🙏🙏🙏 Which also explains why the country is a #VishwaGutter.

This is called socialising institutional problems to individuals. The air is a govt issue. The streets are, unfortunately, a govt issue. The aesthetics are…you guessed it right, a govt issue. People lack civic sense, but they have no incentive to learn civic sense, because no laws are really enforced. The taxes we pay disappear into a hell hole of 0 accountability, and now we must pay a moral tax too. First I pay in money to have my city look half decent, now I must also pay in guilt because the money disappeared somewhere.
Aaraynsh@aaraynsh

Unpopular opinion: Most of India’s cleanliness, garbage, dirt and poor aesthetic issues are not because of the government but because of people’s civic sense and their mentality toward public property. Most people keep their homes clean but the moment they step into a public place they start littering. Even educated people become part of this garbage gang. Worse is, If you call them out, they get aggressive and say, Who are you? The government will clean it.

I just watched this video, and it's really unfortunate. Watching her share the experience made me realise that for all the faults that India has, we are extremely lucky to have a top-notch healthcare system. Couldn't imagine waiting for weeks just to get an appointment with an ENT specialist. We take it so for granted. My father had an accident a year ago and his leg was fractured. They did the operation one or two days after hospitalization, and he was discharged in 4-5 days. The insurance covered all the costs, completely cashless. It was honestly such a relief because I couldn't imagine what we would have done otherwise. All we had to do was just show them his insurance card, that's it. No questions asked. And this goes for all sorts of surgeries, there's usually not much waiting period at all. We are a lower-middle-class family, so it's not like we had some exclusive insurance either, it was the bare minimum, but it worked seamlessly. It covered the operation bills, hospital room bills, medicines, and more. And not on a reimbursement basis, btw, we didn't have to pay from start to finish. I'm not sure exactly how much it costs, but it's probably above 1 lakh INR easily. Just wanted to share my thoughts on this, there are a lot of things we take for granted. Every country has its problems, we should also look towards the positives! I only wish we would also focus more on healthcare for severe mental illnesses, because that's probably better in the West. Getting proper treatment for your loved ones suffering from severe mental illnesses, especially for a middle-class or poor family, is a nightmare. Speaking from personal experience. 💔

Strongly Disagree. His ideology and policies are important. However, his identity and faith are equally important. Zohran's victory in the election provides millions and millions of Muslims around the world with a sense of dignity and justice. Never try to diminish the empowerment of an identity that has been demonised by propaganda.
Dhruv Rathee@dhruv_rathee

I don’t care about Zohran Mamdani’s identity or religion. What matters to me is that he stands against crony capitalism and that he will fight climate change, improve public transport, education and healthcare. All that matters for a better world. And he has showed that it possible to win elections on these issues without being funded by billionaires. That’s why his victory is truly an inspiration for people all across the planet.
