Today, the long-standing demand of the region has been fulfilled with the declaration of Madurai Airport as Madurai International Airport. Hon’ble Civil Aviation Minister Shri Ram Mohan Naidu, alongside Hon’ble Union Minister L. Murugan and other senior officials from the Ministry and AAI were present at the event. With this , the temple city of Madurai will gain greater prominence on global air routes, paving the way for enhanced airline connectivity. The Minister also inaugurated the new ATC building at Madurai Airport. This milestone will further strengthen Madurai’s rich cultural and spiritual legacy while accelerating the region’s emergence as a key economic hub driven by tourism and trade.
