@alexrkonrad Not common to buyout earlier investors at B. Occasionally, provide some liquidity to seed but almost never to A investors.

@kane Be sure to compare apples to apples. SF population is irrelevant. What is relevant is population of the DMA / metro area, which is 5m+ for bay area. City lines are drawn randomly.

@AdamDraper Not to be pedantic, but it's "you're" not "your". Or maybe "your" was intentional due to the term "idiot".... which would then make the phrase quite clever.

I'm at the point where I don't know if I want the market to go up or down. Going up is great bc makes me feel richer. But, I have cash to invest and hard to do so at such high valuations. Want to buy on a drop

@jasonlk 3/ My network has amazing founders that Gurley and Wilson will never see. That's the beauty of VC. While, yes, good VCs create a self-reinforcing network -> best deals begets more of the best deals. There is a natural cycle and turnover over time.

@jasonlk 2/ Jason, I beg to disagree. (note: I admire and strive to be as good as Gurley and Wilson...one day...). But, I see plenty of good deals that I have access to. It's harder to have conviction/get partners on board to do deal than it is to get access.

@chamath Hence why we VC's ask prior to investing: Is this CEO a good salesman? Takes a broad set of talents to be a CEO, and selling to: customers, employees, the market, the board, etc. cannot be underestimated.

@paulkrugman Problem w/ BTC; no one transacting for goods/services-only trading. Volatility is too high-why spend BTC if it'll double in value? Once BTC price stabilizes -> increase in velocity of transactions (for goods) vs. trades -> medium of exchange. Then it's a big deal. Or could fail.

A look at @PitchBook's list of largest VC-backed companies. Here's where I would invest as we begin 2018.

@annimaniac @Recode I'm all for @sarahtavel as much as the next person--and I'm pro-women, diversity, etc But, she hasn't disclosed ONE investment yet...let alone had an exit. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. (I do hope for her success though)

Hardly seems overly aggressive to observe the following YOY details: US sales of ICE light duty vehicles are -1.7%; US sales of EV are +30%, and that US gasoline consumption is currently running -1.1%: ir.eia.gov/wpsr/overview.…
