Ms. Long of Business Insider did not send anything to me. Fran McGill, who heads communications for us, received an email from Ms. Long at 5:19pm which he brought to my attention when he tracked me down around 20 minutes later. The email was about 12 pages long. Ms. Long said in the email that BI would be publishing its story this evening. They did so at 7:15pm. Note that they chose to send the email after sundown on Friday night to a family that celebrates Shabbat dinner together. And also note that they are attacking the Israeli wife of the protagonist in this situation. Think about that and think about why they chose to wait until 5:19pm. Now also consider why is it that Business Insider published this story. Probably because other news sources turned it down. Who picks BI for a “scoop” in any case? Also, how can one check whether Wikipedia was used as a source for anything? Wikipedia changes minute by minute. The authors are unknown. Is it even copyrighted material? How do we know that Wikipedia didn’t plagiarize from someone else? Who is accountable for accuracy at Wikipedia? Who are the authors? Does Business Insider strike you as a first class source of news trying to get to the truth, or is it a gun for anyone’s hire. What do you think?

New desk setup is mostly complete. Makes the room feel more spacious, weirdly enough. Mounted OLED on the left wall for HDMI device usage (currently Analogue Pocket dock).

@dark1x I don't understand the wildly varying impressions of both the headset and GT7. It's puzzling to be honest. This ranges from the SDE still very much being present, the FOVeated rendering apparently not working as people had hoped for, mura effect being extremely apparent, etc.

How about a little PSVR2 vs regular mode GT7?

@shanselman My wife sends me a list on Whatapps. Then she sends me another list when I'm paying, with inserts between entries. Then she sends a few individual entries as I'm fulfilling the second list, prior to sending a third updated list as I'm asking if I can have a single list.

This might be obvious but my wife and I find this to be a super useful hack, easier than sharing notes and to do list for groceries. We text each other what we want from the store and then when we get the thing, we thumbs up it

@dark1x Not knowing if the FOV is really an improvement or not is the only thing keeping me from pre-ordering. I can't deal with VR through toilet rolls anymore.

@allenholub Who decides if said individual is competent ? I was once told that memcpy is slow by a very senior programmer and that "he didn't like it that much". Should I continue fixing the inane things they bring up because brain-dead management made unqualified people fail upward ?

If you give your code to a competent programmer who's never seen it and they ask any questions, you've failed. Every question is a defect. Fix it.

@aerettberg She keep saying she wants to become an artist when she's older. Meow The Infinite was the first comic I bought her (now that she's learning to read). I hope she keeps that passion. I'll buy her anything she ever needs, regardless of what I need to do to support her.

@aerettberg My daughter is 7 and draws using cheap paper and crayons. Not because I can't afford to buy her more expensive supplies (I would), but because that's all she wants / needs. Kids have an innocent soul and a passion we should all learn from.

Regarding the “I didn’t learn to draw because art supplies are expensive” argument… You didn’t learn to draw because you don’t like drawing. We all make art with cheap supplies when we’re kids. The only difference between artists and everyone else is that artists never stopped.

@cmuratori This is disheartening. I joined awhile ago and don’t have access to the private channel. The public channel was the only way I could interact with the community. You solved a problem, but you also punished the innocent for the actions of trolls.

The #public channel on the Molly Rocket discord has been deleted. There were too many trolls, and I don't want the overhead of having to continually ban people. The private channels are all still available.

@Velaris84 No, I only use 4coder on HH. RemedyBG I used everywhere, though - it is my daily debugger on everything at Molly Rocket, as well as everything on the Handmade Hero live streams.

@cmuratori are you using 4coder on projects outside of HH ? You've sold me on RemedyBG, I'm just curious if you share as much enthusiasm for 4coder. I'd be avoiding the time commitment if there's better alternatives out there.

If you feel the need to use a debugger, then it means you don't understand what your code is doing. Unfortunately, that's a problem the debugger can't fix. You have to either look closer, or make the code clearer.

@elonmusk What's lacking is organization. Today, the end result of what we're reading on our screens is driven by who wrote it (and the boost rating), instead of the idea behind the tweet. I want to be presented with topics aggregated from tweets written by those I follow.

@elonmusk Revamp the UI. Twitter should offer a graph where nodes can represent topics, ultimately leading to tweets. We're stuck with a scrollable list, which takes away from the ability to view at a cursory glance what's available for viewing.
