Has a D-Day vibe. @LizCGil this is what happens when I don't have billable hours requirements. There are a million ways to do community service. @waitmanb @ChugachMtnBlues

@CasualArtyFan @cpt_blondie I'm literally here, in Ukraine, marking armored targets for UA artillery to hit. A VDV battalion could be marching down the road in parade formation and arty would shrug it off in order to hit a disabled tank that *might* get recovered later by Russians.

Was there with Ryan. I will never understand Russian culture. As Ryan says, even ISIS respected their dead. The Ukrainian army treats Russian dead better than Russians do.

Most law firms struggle to distinguish themselves. This lawsuit against Wachtell forces everyone to explain why other firms are unable to copy their lucrative billing practices. All without Wachtell saying a single word. A true masterclass in marketing.

@heyitsalexsu @web4O S&C represented FTX prior to the bankruptcy, 2 of FTX's inhouse legal counsel are S&C alumni. The chief regulatory off. flagged this early in proceedings to address conflicts of interest/ ethical issues with billing, but the judge wouldn't allow it to be addressed.

@web4O I’ve seen it. I don’t know how it’s justified but it’s possible the overall cost of representation is “worth it” and the hourly rate for juniors is just a made up number to get the total fee where it needs to be. Complete speculation here though.

Cluster bombs are bad. The destruction of one's own culture and mass murder of one's fellow countrymen is objectively worse. Thanks White Savior western world, for telling Ukrianians how to handle their own war. bbc.com/news/world-us-…

@AnthonyAggie17 @cpt_blondie One of the best leaders I ever had ( i was company cdr, he BDE) gave us his cell # and said "feel free to use my name in vain". When it came to soldiers well-being he'd literally stop what he was doing and call the offending party's bde-level commander. Worked like magic.

It's ridiculous that all it takes for finance to fix a soldier's pay after 2 months is a commander walking in with them. Literally the exact same paperwork, just with me sipping coffee while I stand behind him, and now it's fixed.

@pptsapper Lee was a good general, but that attack is the kind of thing which Zapp Brannigan from Futurama would have come up with.

78% of Ukrainians have relatives or friends who have died or been wounded in the war. That’s 4 out of 5. The Russian idea of brotherly nations is gone. By Russia’s doing. The war has become personal for everyone in Ukraine. It is us vs them. 1/

I wish someone would create a version of Google Maps for historians. Options: by foot, horse or mule? With baggage carts or post haste?

With new rumors of Wagner element moving from Rostov in the direction of Moscow, one must ask: why are the roads open to them? Where are forces to intercept them? I can buy that units are perhaps switching allegiance...but surely there are loyalists?

@HardcoreHistory @amitoben I'd say this is hard to do. The military isn't ready for this, so the "how" is probably difficult. Like, they may not even have ammo handy. The US Army, when they had to go from Ft. Hood TX to New Orleans for Katrina, had serious issues "just driving down the highway".

@amitoben Really? Could there possibly be NO Loyalists? Could the generals be thinking: "nah, let's leave the roads wide open"? I'm pretty comfortable saying that there has to be SOME loyalists and that generals must be thinking about impeding columns heading towards Moscow (if they are)
