The biggest step AOC needs to take if she's serious about running for president in two years are getting married and popping out a baby in the next eighteen months. People may not want to hear it, but if she's still childless and single in 2028, that'll hurt her chances.

Predatory lending company Big League Advance (BLA) is owned by former Phillies SP Michael Schwimer.
BLA provides upfront capital to minor league players in exchange for a percentage of their future professional earnings.
They target players who are expected to make it to MLB.

Elly De La Cruz, like Fernando Tatis Jr., also signed an agreement with the financial firm Big League Advance (BLA) in his early years as a professional. Under this agreement, the Cincinnati Reds star agreed to forfeit 10% of all his lifetime salary earnings in exchange for receiving an advance during his time in the minor leagues. In 2018, De La Cruz signed for a $65,000 signing bonus, from which a percentage had to be deducted for his coach. His professional debut came in 2019 in the Summer League, where the salary for the season does not exceed US$3,000. In 2020, due to the pandemic, his salary was limited to US$8,000, and between 2021 and 2023 he had to manage with the low salaries of rookie, AA, and AAA (between US$4,800 and US$17,500 per year).
