You may have noticed that since Tuesday, Scott Petersen (@PetersenForNE) has been attacked by critics (including @jdauzreyes from @OWHnews) as “failing to prove election fraud” in Nebraska. As I’ve already pointed out, that is a disingenuous smear from those carrying water for the Democrat candidate. But here’s a common sense proposal everyone should support, including Scott Petersen: Convicted felons, fraudsters, and convicts of misrepresentation crimes should not be eligible to collect signatures for ballot initiative campaigns in Nebraska. Nebraska law currently allows for convicted rapists, murderers, and violent felons to be paid by initiative campaigns to collect your name, signature, and address. Two bills were introduced on this topic during the last Nebraska Legislative session. One by Senator Murman (LB 1090) and one by Senator Storm (LB 1068). Both of the bills failed to get out of committee. Of course, Democrats like @SenMcKinneyLD11 weren’t interested in the common sense proposal. Instead, Democrats like Senator McKinney scoffed at the proposal and used the hearing to ask questions about whether President Trump would be allowed to carry ballots in Nebraska. Why would Sarah Slattery behave differently? We also don’t need to pretend that this is an isolated incident.
