I’ve been critical of Michael Vaughan chasing headlines and trying to manufacture clickbait quotes. I think he’s tarnished his 2005 legacy a bit by doing that. I’m one of many fans that he’s blocked. But, having said all that, credit where it’s due. Having listened to him on the TMS podcast and his own pod today, he sounds a lot more competent and capable than Rob Key. He clearly has a vision for England. He is a proven performer. I don’t think he would take any crap. He might even knock a few heads together. Would you like to see him take over from Key?

@KlaynRogue @LaundryGuy1945 Their is a reason that by 1600 cavalry are only basically wearing a cuirass arm protection and a helmet the cuirass will stop a bullet the helmet and arms protect you from slashes in a charge but even then you can’t armour them heavy enough to stop bullets

@LaundryGuy1945 Plate armor is light because it's extremely thin, like 3mm in some parts It won't stop modern rounds

Modern armor has to be thicker to protect against modern bullets. Also no matter how much armor you wear you’re still gonna feel the force of the impact. Pretty sure rifle rounds hitting level IV plates can still break ribs if they’re stopped by the plate.
Medieval Diesel@TimothyEveland

Medieval plate armor is super flexible and it's also lighter than modern tactical gear. Seriously, why hasn't any military copied medieval armor design yet? Imagine a suit made from the most advanced bullet-proof materials.

@LaundryGuy1945 the breaking ribs thing is extremely overemphasized by random tweets and reddit posts. VERY few rifle rounds could break a rib if you are wearing hard armor. Most wont leave a bruise.

@peterrhague Stoppage of grog was a severe punishment going back centuries. Then naive, feminized do-gooders lurking in the halls of power decided to institutionalise it because they know what’s best…

@ThackhamJosh @FennellJW They are definitely still built in the UK not sure about parts That’s the thing though a full militarised chassis for defender and it basically becomes a totally different vehicle

@Warge6 @FennellJW A full off road chassis on new defender would be great, has to be 🇬🇧 built though, maximum 🇬🇧supply chains to, not sure much if modern LRs: defender, Disco, RR etc are either made in 🇬🇧 or have many 🇬🇧 made parts right?

Landrover replacement contenders (probably more than one type).. GM Defence / BAE Team Lionstrike are offering the Chevvy S10 at one end of the requirement and the GM Infantry Squad Vehicle at the other.

@BenGrahamUK The egg is a pagan pre-christian symbol, you wont find it in the Bible anywhere. As for the famously devout Quaker Cadbury family, they are selling chocolate not religion.

Britain has been a Christian nation for over 1,400 years. Through wars, plagues, and countless kings, Easter has always been celebrated. Yet now, Cadbury won’t even use the word ‘Easter’ on their eggs. When did celebrating British traditions become controversial?

@Osintcollection LMM replaced Starstreak 2 in production (it used the budget assigned)...which was spectacularly prescient. Starstreak 2 was fully developed and trialled, ready for production at the time. UK Gov will be ordering new Starstreak in due course, presumably this will be Starstreak 3

The U.K. ordering more Martlet/ LMM is more testament to the fact that FINALLY the U.K. actually has a decent counter UAS system which is reasonably affordable and deployable. I do wonder where Starstreak fits in this mix…

@FennellJW @Szlater2 @bwj123penne @Osintcollection It’s still 100% capable of downing shaheed size drones I believe the biggest issue is its cost it’s a much more expensive missile due to the speed it’s designed to fly at speed makes it brilliant for things like frogfoot at low level or helicopters but becomes a doubleedge sword

@Ubique2078 @FennellJW @Szlater2 @bwj123penne @Osintcollection Yes designed to explode with a very small amount of explosives inside the target using the KE to penetrate the transfer of KE to the airframe+ the explosion despite being small is basically enough to down anything it would be used against A proxy explosion is useless
