New day new indie idea. #buildinpublic Now I do paid reviews for your websites. DesignFriend is in the background. Got to make that indie $1. Probably the best value-paid deal in the whole X today. designcritiq.framer.website

@aandreug @artemiydesign ok better. But still pretty "loophole" ready. Does this service page hero photo stay or should it be replaced? Does grunge bg texture need it or not? Would be much easier to request it for each image. Done deal. Not needed in practice, but makes the rules clear.

Question for template creators: Do you usually write alt text for CMS images inside templates (blog covers, work thumbnails, etc.) even though those images will most likely be replaced by the buyer anyway? Trying to understand if it’s worth spending time on this or not from an accessibility/marketplace perspective.

@aandreug @artemiydesign maybe should update this? "Add meaningful alt text to images." But clearly you are happy to run with double standards. Let me explain. MEANINGFUL Actually means. "Image" shouldnt pass either. to images. Guess some need to add it to all others can choose.

@artemiydesign Alt texts are only mandatory if the image is expected to remain in place (e.g., a social media icon). If people are likely to change the image later, they’re not necessary.

Custom Meta Description (MD) for CMS items. #FramerFriday MD doesn't improve rankings exactly. Yet it can increase CTR and affect ranking through this. And it's easy to add. 1) Head to CMS collection Fields tab. 2) Add Plain Text field. 3-4) Position in list, name and optionally add limit. Ideal MD is 120–158 characters. I allow a bit more for flexibility. 5) Second slide. Head to Settings and open up CMS collection page. Add your newly created {{Meta Description}} tag to description box. Dont forget to save. 6) Write or ask people to write custom MDs for posts. Focus on what could bring clicks. More clicks to a good site means more visibility and trust to a brand. Enjoy building better sites. In real life good website is often not about fancy hero images but multiple small details done right. If you build a good website it will rank well in Framer or as Wordpress or Custom. In practice its just much easier in Framer.

Finally close to my first template approval on framer market place. Any idea how much time it will take to live on marketplace?

Place your bets brave ones. What are the odds that Framer rejects this with a BS claim "Avoid orphan words" and same week accepts 7+ templates that clearly break their rules? I say 50-60 not in my favor

@benjitaylor Will repeat my old tape here. What makes design challenging and also interesting is that there are no right or wrong answers. Nothing is never ready. Just production ready.

We need to stop talking about product design in absolutes… there are no rules. Everything is made up. Do what makes sense and feels right.

@jbcode_it If people stay silent then sure we dont have influence. My issue is that I dont want to call out any specific templates. Harm to other creators is not goal. But yeah my life gets trickier. But guess need to do so good work that no lose ends.

@WeekendVisuals This is what a perfect world would look like, but unfortunately it’s not. I totally agree that everyone should be treated equally, but we don’t really have any influence over it.

@jbcode_it I still believe that if it is open marketplace for everyone. Then same rules should apply to all. If one person gets a note that something needs to be fixed. Then rest should get the same treatment.

@WeekendVisuals It happens and it’s annoying, but we should compare ourselves with those who are better than us. That’s how we become better.

@xsondesign there is also easy trick you can use too. it is non-breaking-space. nbsp; hidden character. Enter it between last two words. Eg in CMS content. In UI you can do it with command or control + Space

@WeekendVisuals it's hard to find the solution to pass this rejection. i try with both (using text balance and rewrite whole text). but sometime, it make me crazy due text length also depend on width of space 😉

@anayatul_islam @framer Green + white doesn’t pass accessibility probably. Try to simplify. Less text on paragraph. I would also remove text from illustration. Somehow composition is bit lose now.

This Clause Framer template is responsible for keeping my daily dopamine levels up. 5 templates in the marketplace. 1 making moves. Is it better than others? No. Yet its more visible. Should I remove this terrible AI intro video?

@Marki_Tweet Its something I am actually thinking now. As an example. Multi reference CMS list inside CMS items. I dont even know myself how those filters work exactly. 1:1 template should work. But if user needs customisation it feels tricky.

@WeekendVisuals Yeah, for sure, there has to be a limit. I think we need to set the line between reasonable support and someone basically trying to get cheap custom work through a template purchase.😄

Starting to realize template business is way less “passive income” than people make it sound. 👀 The launch is probably the easiest part. The real work is building trust, finding distribution, and staying consistent no matter what. Curious how others here experienced it?

@Marki_Tweet if something doesnt work I can agree. Otherwise think it can be thin ice. When is it support and how to draw the line between work.

@WeekendVisuals I see your point. Yeah, I meant paid templates. Not necessarily endless customization support, but more like technical support if something breaks or doesn’t work as intended. I still think that’s important if people are paying for the product.
