Market will not crash until after April, so insiders who bought in a year earlier when Trump manipulated the market can exit with cap gains taxes just in time. Funny thing, Warsh is due to take over as Fed chair in May and spike the rates then. My guess is that's when it happens

SO has anyone been someone who didn't have their shit together, and then become someone who consistently has their shit together? If so, how did you do it?

I've always wondered this. Like do western business executives look down on someone for being a post-soviet oligarch? I could see arguments for either way. One way to look at it is you're just playing *the game,* wherever you happen to be; and if it involves lethal polonium doses to your rival rather than beating their quarterly earnings in that part of the world, are you no better or worse, as far as skill is concerned?

New York did this! If you became a millionaire by building railroads you were new money and beneath the old millionaires that got rich by skinning a bajillion beavers.

@bryancsk Do you think billionaires rank themselves based on which billionaire creation even they came from? Will they look down on the AI cohort for being too right-place-right-time? I think the Chinese do this for the Shenzhen real estate billionaires

@theepicmap Fascinated as to why there is *nothing at all* on this coast above Vancouver. Becomes completely empty immediately north of that city

@ad0rnai I don't think of anybody from high school more than once every 6 months; this mindset seems so alien

When you saw people posting their conversations with the opposite sex online it used to be like "Hey" "hey" "Whats up" "nm u" "Thinking about going to bed" "lol r u sleepy?" "No but got work" "oh lmao you should sleep" "Can't get off my phone haha" Now they're all some form of bizarre psychological combat, wherein the participants try and "own" each other to the imaginary audiences they're about to post this for

Men use sexuality to intimidate, to frighten, to unsettle. I use it as a language. Turning their favorite weapon into their discomfort is one of my favorite games. It is their turn now.

Look, I'm a boomer, and every bone in my body is screaming that this is a bubble, ppl are just using it for performative work, etc., but talking to people with real jobs. I'm fairly certain that we're still going to ramp on token demand by a few orders of magnitude from here. We are nowhere near the peak of deployment. The tricky part is that, even at current subsidised rates, this demand is uneconomical to serve. There's still a lot of disruption to happen below the line in how we go about serving this demand

it does seem that this time, unlike others, it is fair to characterize it all as ‘late stage capitalism’

@DeepDishEnjoyer A bit yeah, it still seems so out of place though; this came out in Cleveland at the time. Totally out of the blue

@Wockcrafter oh for sure it's still impressive, but just "most ahead-of-its-time song ever" is definitely exaggerating, even for the 70s

@DeepDishEnjoyer Being 5 years ahead of your time in the 60s-70s is a lot! This and "30 Seconds Over Tokyo/Heart Of Darkness" were utterly groundbreaking
