@WPGMurat Was there a reason you can recall as to why the Jets drafted Perfertti over Jarvis? I know it was seen as quite the turn for Perfetti to still be available at 10. Was he seen as the future 2c at a time we had a decent amount of wingers?

I don’t mind that the Golden Goal puck ended up in the Hall of Fame. I understand why a moment like that gets preserved. But Jack Hughes isn’t selfish for wanting his family to have it, especially when he was simply asked about it. Presented by @bet365ca #bet365

Here is something form my curling interested followers. Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet took some photos as well. And guess what? aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/a/… (Translated fram Swedish): "Here Canada is caught by Sportbladet's camera We took Canada's advice – and put our photographer on the line CORTINA. Canada's curling masters accuse the Swedish team of having placed a cameraman in the stands with the aim of setting them up. So Sportbladet went to the hall in Cortina to do just that. - I guess they behaved today, they should have learned their lesson from last Friday, Oskar Eriksson speculates about the outcome. What do you think? The Olympic curling arena in Cortina is a powerful piece, gently submerged between cars, hotels and restaurants that all go under the epithet "luxury". It was originally built for the 1956 Olympics, and then housed both the opening ceremony and the figure skating under the open sky. Since then, a roof fixed with heavy steel beams has been added – but it has proven to be far too low for the ongoing men's curling tournament now that the games are back, 70 years later. Not for the game itself, that is. But for the discussion about a sport that is now in the midst of a crisis of confidence. – The soul of curling is dead, says Marc Kennedy with a serious look. The 44-year-old has just been involved in beating the Czech team, and his Canada is thus well on its way to the playoffs. But in the mixed zone after the victory, no one is talking about the match. Instead, it is the ripples from the chaos of the past week that are still sweeping over us. In the curling world, it has been dubbed “Boopgate”. Boop, as in the English word for jokingly poking someone. – What do you mean by crazy week? Kennedy jokes when it comes up again. On Friday, Canada's match against Sweden ended with an open argument on the ice between Kennedy and Oskar Eriksson after the Swedes repeatedly accused the Canadians of cheating. Television images also clearly showed how Marc Kennedy, in violation of the rules, poked the granite part of the stone with his hand after he let go of the handle. During the four days that followed, the situation has almost degenerated, and as recently as Sunday, elite player Michael Fournier accused the Swedish team of having paid a "mysterious Zapruder figure" (the man who filmed the Kennedy assassination) to get photo evidence of cheating. The Swedes firmly deny this. But Sportbladet still thought this sounded like a very tempting idea, so during Canada's meeting with the Czech Republic on Monday, we parked our photographer in the stands along the line. Because they couldn't cheat again, could they? After the photos from the meeting with Sweden made headlines all over the world? After even innocent updates from junior tournaments in Canada were flooded with critical comments on the national federation's Instagram page? And after Kennedy was made fun of in various joke pictures that are now circulating at high speed across the internet? No, at least Oskar Eriksson, who was the main target of the Canadian anger, didn't think so. Do you think the Canadians played completely clean today? - I assume they did. They should have learned their lesson from last Friday, right? Sportbladet did not capture any pictures that proved that Marc Kennedy touched the stone during the match against the Czech Republic. But he is not alone in the team. Instead, here are a total of six pictures from two stones sent by the team's biggest star, skipper Brad Jacobs. The eighth round was also the last. Then the Czechs, at the score of 2–8, gave up. When the Canadians came down to the mixed zone, Sportbladet confronted Marc Kennedy with the pictures. – If you want to talk about the match against the Czech Republic, that's fine, Kennedy replied. This is from the Czech Republic match. – I have 50 videos of people who ... I'll go ... But that's okay, We've talked about this so much already. It's a shame that it came up during the Olympics. We've all had to deal with it now. But all the teams have the right to call a referee now, so if the Czech Republic were not happy with something, they were more than welcome to call a referee and we could do the same. That's how it should work. said Kennedy and concluded: – I can guarantee that there is not a single double touch out there that is done intentionally to cheat. That's all I can say. When we then asked to also speak to Brad Jacobs, the woman in charge of the press on site asked us about our nationality – whereupon the Canadian team declined the interview. Where did they leave the trust in their sport still sinking into quicksand. Because it is in a crisis, according to Marc Kennedy himself. – This game of trying to catch people red-handed, and all to win a medal, sucks. Unfortunately. But it is what it is, the sport is developing and those in charge really need to take a good look at this. The Canadian believes that curling has historically been a sport of trust, where the players have effectively judged themselves and where small transgressions are either dealt with directly or met with leniency. A gentleman's sport. – But it is difficult for me to use the word gentleman after this week. But we love the idea of self-government without the need for referees. That is where I think curling is in a bad way now and I think that comes from a thirst for medals sucks. Unfortunately. But it is what it is, the sport is evolving and those in charge really need to take a good look at this. The Canadian believes that curling has historically been a sport of trust, where the players have in practice refereed themselves and where small violations are either dealt with directly or met with leniency. A gentleman's sport. - But it's hard for me to use the word gentleman after this week. But we love the idea of self-governance without the need for referees. I think curling is in a bad place right now and I think that comes from a thirst for medals, says Kennedy without addressing how the Canadians themselves, through their actions, have affected the chance for self-governance. Are you worried about the sport's reputation? - Yes, maybe. I haven't thought about it that much but there are probably some relationships that have been damaged by all this. Yes. What should happen now? - I don't know. There are so many matches during a year where you can't have referees at the level we have here. So if we don't have any of the soul of curling left, we're in trouble. I don't have the answers, but it will be interesting to see. After that question, Canada's press officer breaks in and asks if anyone has a question about the match instead. No one does, so Sportbladet asks another one about the future. If there is to be self-governance again, it has to be built on trust. How are you going to win back the trust of the Swedish team? – I don't know. I'm not worried about that. Their trust? It goes both ways. As I said, Oskar did some trump cards too and I would never confront him like that. I told him that here in the mixed zone. That I would never, ever do that to you. So, that's what it is. Forward. It's sport. It's sport, and a very beautiful one in Cortina's historic arena. With three hanging floors, it resembles an old Shakespearean theater and you can't complain about the drama that unfolded here. Not even on the intrigues. But while Canada is now marching on in the Olympic tournament, the Swedish team is already snowballing. This after a heavy loss to Germany on Monday – on the court next to their Canadian rivals. There has been speculation about Team Edin's future but all we are told today is that they will continue through the upcoming World Cup tournament. What happens after that no one seems to know. Neither with the team's – or the sport's – design. – I hope that curling can be developed technically. A bit like in tennis, that you have a certain number of challenges per team per match. It's not easy but there are things you can do that we haven't done, says Rasmus Wranå. What does it take for you to regain the trust of other teams now? – We are good friends out there with basically all the teams. It's not about trust. It's just about us trying to make the sport better. That's what we're trying to achieve and I hope that this will be a good first step towards that."

@jbrowaty @ianwalkerwpg @safespeedswpg Hi Jeff, Resident of Bonner Ave here. Why do you lie? Give me all the sidewalks. Blvd is snow and ice. Bonner is a collector street? Tired of my kids dodging cars going 60 km+ on Bonner while we try to walk. Do you leave your parents basement to actually talk to constituents?

@ianwalkerwpg @safespeedswpg The residents of Bonner haven’t wanted sidewalks due to the cost and loss of parking (can’t park across a sidewalk). Bonner is a major local collector so 30 km/hr is a non-starter. Drivers need to slow down around peds and peds should be on Blvd when possible.

@POP_WPG He means that money should be spent increasing both frequency and ridership, as opposed to new buses that will ultimately do nothing for either of those. If you’re going to try and slag one of the biggest champions of our city at least have the guts to tag him @brent_bellamy

If ever you needed proof that the average new urbanist will not be our saviour, this guy seems to be going out of his way to help provide it. Yes, we obviously want people to drive less/use transit more (any transit!), but why does he believe electric buses would be empty? 🤔

@owentoews Or you could present the real story, bud. MB housing let the building fall into complete disrepair to the point it was uninhabitable. They put it up for tender. Private company bought it, invested, and restored it. Without that action we would be staring at a empty parking lot.

We stop at Edison Properties' Smith Street Lofts on the walking tour of Winnipeg I do sometimes. 373 units of public housing were lost there, to profit this individual. Now the proceeds of homelessness will pay an army of do-gooders to handle the fallout. cbc.ca/news/canada/ma…

Winnipeg has come too far on our journey of reconciliation to turn the clock back. Standing up for Canada means fighting to build a more inclusive city for all including Indigenous peoples. Most Winnipeggers understand this & it’s why this candidate will once again lose. #wpg22
Jenny Motkaluk@JennyMotkaluk

.@AMCMBChiefs said that the Canada I celebrate should never have existed in the first place. Then they invited all candidates to a 'mayoral forum'. I won't be going. My question is do the other candidates accept the AMC's assertion? If so, how will they stand up for Canada?

@Mayor_Bowman This is a reminder to Winnipeggers why I ran against you in the first place. Politics of fear and division have been your specialty. A Mayor of a Canadian city must first stand up for Canada. It’s clear that you agree that our country should never have existed. Shame
